Planning Tools

Hello lovelies!
We are starting to plan our wedding (eek!) and I am wondering what everyone uses as far as planners and checklist to plan. Do you use a physical planner you take everywhere with you? I have a fear of needing it and not having it on me. Has anyone ever used a digital wedding planner? Why did you choose Wedding Wire, The Knot, Zola?

Thanks in advance! 🤍

I used my normal everyday planner to track wedding related appointments. I also kept a wedding planning binder with vendor contacts, our timelines, and contracts that went to meetings with us.

I mostly use wedding wire, but I also have a small "Regular" planner, like the kind I used to use in school. It fits in my purse. I like it to keep track of dates, but also in the week pages (like where you used to put assignments you needed to do each day) I write notes when needed. It is nice having something to write down a quick thought before you forget!

I used Zola. I felt like it had the most comprehensive checklist. I tracked my vendors in The Knot though.

I use the checklists on here and on The Knot. But I also keep a personal journal to write down lists, ideas, costs of things, information on different vendors, basically anything wedding related and it's all in one place, so I know where to look. I also have a planner to write down all my appointments with vendors, dates I paid off vendors, and deadlines for payments. I also have The Knot wedding planner that I got from Barnes & Noble, but it's a large binder that isn't easy to carry around, but I do still use it to put my vendors' info in just in case. It's not necessary, it's basically the website in paper form.

I just used the checklist and budgeted on The Knot (I liked that one better then Wedding Wire). Meetings were put in my phone calendar. All of my vendors emailed me copies of the contracts, so I had those in email.

I use the checklist here on wedding wire but I also have a physical planner for any wedding related appointments.

Awesome! Thank you so much for your replies!
I think we are going to browse and see what works best for us. I know all the websites definitely have their pros and cons.

I just have a small notebook that I take with me for vendor meetings, pricing in stores, etc. And then I have a binder with the (free!!) Russel & Hazel wedding planner (it’s amazing - google it); I sometimes bring this with me, but this is mostly for tracking everything neatly!

I’m using The Knot to track vendors but am using a good old Google spreadsheet to track everything else. If you can do formulas and formatting, it becomes really powerful for tracking things like budgets and checklists

I’m using WW to track dates and tasks. It’s a lot easier for me to adjust dates and add additional tasks or delete vs The Knot. Also, our date got shifted and I was never able to get The Knot to adjust the rest of the dates so everything was due super early.

I’m also hardcore using the Google wedding template in Sheets and it’s awesome, I would highly recommend. I’ve customized it a lot but it allows me to list all the vendors I’ve reached out to, their prices, add the guest list, and track important dates for when deposits/payments are due.

I pretty much put everything on a google excel sheet.
but i was given an actual binder because sometimes you get a lot of paper materials.
