Same! Ours definitely isn't the prettiest on the inside but the views outside fits us perfectly! We love the outdoors and now we are getting married on the side of a mountain by a waterfall!

We selected our venue first. We did not have a specific date in mind, I just knew I wanted an October wedding. So we found some venues that matched the vibe we were looking, and had available October dates, and toured them. We fell in love with the second one and booked it! After that we booked our photographer.

Haha! Yeah. Well to be fair the baker is my aunt who is doing it as a wedding gift for us. She is sending some cupcakes up with her daughter (my cousin) when we go on vacation later this month lol.

That is gorgeous! We also picked our venue first. Planning such a long engagement (26 months) we were able to take our time and really make sure our venue was perfect! So after initially touring the venue we went on a couple more tours, thought about it, and then went back for a second look before taking the plunge and putting down a deposit. The second tour was even better than the first and made us fall in love even more! Plus because we booked in 2017 for a 2019 wedding we saved a ton of money!

After some searching on WW and reaching out to about a dozen venues only 3 responded. One I realized would've been too far to make any logistical sense for anyone and they're packages were overpriced compared to the others.

With two left I set up appointments to take a tour. And you know how they say not to fall in love with the first one? Too late, I did.

That's awesome! We got engaged in 2017 but I was still in school so didn't even start thinking about getting married until 2018! Now I wish I would have booked a venue to lock in the 2017 pricing! It makes a big difference!

It's beautiful!

I had a pretty solid idea on who I wanted for my photographer, but I didn't want to contract them until we had our venue, so, venue came first! However, we locked in our photographer 2 weeks after signing our venue contract (had to do a few consultations just to make sure I was 100% on the photographer I was leaning toward).

I am the same I love baked goods so much! She asked me in May for some ideas for the small cake I want and my FH loves anything blueberry so she is going send us a variety of blueberry cupcakes/ cakes to try. Along with some other flavors to pick from for our cupcakes for guests.

Blueberry sounds great! I've really been into lemon sweets lately. I had a blueberry lemon cake this weekend that was to die for! We went with a raspberry filling because my FH loves raspberries and he didn't have much input in anything else haha.

I completely understand! I just graduated college this past May so majority of my planning has been while I've been in school and working full time! But definitely! We locked in our venue, photography, and DJ in 2017 so I think we saved like $3500!

I picked our venue 1st as well, which helped us pick our date, then everything else i did was way out of order. For example, the 3rd thing I did was order our invitations 🤦‍♀️

Oh that does sound good! Yeah from what my cousin told me she has 5 blueberry ideas she wants us to try and go from there. I honestly cannot wait. I'm looking more forward to the cupcakes that my actual food tasting this week lol. I also want to make sure we have plenty of cupcakes too. I was in a wedding this June and they never cut the cake and never handed it out; yet it sat on a "dessert table" all evening until they took it away. It was super strange.

Oh wow! I procrastinated ordering invitations for like 3 months.

We picked our venue first so we knew about how much money we would need to save. I looked up several online and found our venue randomly. It wasn't even in the area we were looking for. It's about an hours drive from us but when we viewed it, we new it was perfect. It's gorgeous and so many things are included-photographer, cake, dj, tables and chairs, linens, caterer. We have both been previously married but didn't have the best weddings and we wanted something beautiful and someplace where we didn't have to do anything-we just show up and get married

Us too! That's kind of how we picked our venue. I needed to find a venue that was pretty much all inclusive so I didn't have to deal with picking each vendor separately. We had to look outside our search radius but eventually found the perfect place!
