Placecards - did you print yourself?

Rachey, on May 18, 2014 at 2:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

So I have a few things left to do in the next few weeks, and was wondering what you all did for place cards, did you buy the blank cards and print your guests' name and table number on it? Or did you have a service do it by providing them the spreadsheet of your seating chart? I don't know why this task is such a pain the ass to me. This and programs are dead last on my list. Yikes!

I went to dollar tree and got 4x6 frames and wrote Table 1 Table 2 etc. on them (just printed it on regular paper). Then I got an 8x10 frame and printed a list of tables and who sits at what table. I figured they can check the chart and see their table. I'm not going to worry about who sits next to who. they can figure that out themselves.

I ordered mine from oriental trading, and they doubled as a second favor because you can put candy or something in them. They were $4.00 per 20 cards

I printed mine myself. I got a template of 60 from Walmart for like $4 and printed names on them.

Those look great Jae! Especially with last minute changes to seating chart, I think I'd rather print myself. Thanks!

I went to a beach themed wedding. they had a sea shell with a holder on it and it held the name and table of the person. it was very cute. I think it was DIY but not sure.

I'm printing them myself on cardstock. I just found a backdrop I liked and added text boxes. It was super easy.

I was going to order those sea shell card holders, they are from party city. I just waited too late. What I ended.up doing was getting 3 different jeweled sticker sets from Michaels. They were in there section where.most stuff is $1.00. I stuck them in the top right corner of the name card. Pearl was chicken, blue was beef, black was fish... or something like that. I tried finding beach themed stickers but a lot of them were too big

    I printed mine myself.

For place cards: I made the tent cards from a gold/champagne shimmer cardstock. I printed the names/entrees on ivory cardstock, cut them apart, and cut the lace edging on them with a craft punch. (I think I still have the template for printing around here somewhere... If I do, you are welcome to it)

We had A LOT of last minute shuffling in the guest list so I didn't include table numbers on the place cards (the table arrangements changed right up until the Thur prior to the wedding. Instead, we used the favor boxes with personalized tags as Tys. We wrote the table numbers in (neatly) on the day prior to the wedding.

Also, we pre-poured champagne for the toast and had the glasses on the tables. To make this work, we had to be able to indicate who recv'd champagne and who did not (instead used sparkling apple cider). To do this, we placed a small gem in the upper right hand corner on the place cards of non-drinkers. Worked perfectly.

Jennifer, if it's not too late. May I suggest doing your list alphabetically an d not by table. I've been to a wedding where the chart was by table, I spent 15 minutes looking for my name,

We are printing ours...we have to indicate table # and meal choice. I am still waiting for a few last RSVPS so I can finalize those details.

I'm using individual popcorn baggies that will act as both a favor and place card. I got some stickers at hobby lobby when it was half off. I'll print them myself.
