Has anyone ever had to take a wedding vendor to small claims court? Our photographer was AMAZING leading up to and during the wedding. She came highly recommended by some mutual friends and I liked her style so we booked her. She was organized, quick to respond, and great at directing everyone to where they needed to be the day of. The greatness however stopped as soon as the wedding was over. Post wedding she has been unprofessional in that she has missed every single deadline outlined in our contract and it takes multiple emails or phone calls to get her to respond if she even responds at all. The contract we signed said we were to receive a sneak peek of about 20 photos a week after the ceremony and a full batch of 800-1000 photos 6-8 weeks post wedding. Our sneak peek was 4 weeks late and every time I contacted her regarding our full photo gallery she kept saying they were "almost ready" and that she hoped to have them to me soon. We are now 12 weeks post ceremony and we have received a total of 77 photos and she has stopped responding all together. The photos we have received don't include any family formals, bridal portraits, or wedding party portraits. We basically only have some getting ready photos and a couple of my husband and I. We have already paid in full so we can't even hold out on money until we get our pics.

I understand that life happens so I have tried being nice and believed her when she said they were coming soon, but clearly that is not achieving anything. We paid thousands of dollars for these photos, but honestly at this point I don't even care about the money I just want to see my wedding pictures!

WHAT DO I DO???

Is it possible for you to draft a demand letter or get some lawyer to do one cheaply for you? Usually that or stating you will be starting a small claims case by such and such a date is enough to get someone to do what needs to be done.

I’d get a name of a lawyer and contact her in writing (email and certified mail) that if you do not have photos by xx date she will be hearing from your lawyer

Find an attorney to draft a demand letter for you. It might be a few hundred bucks but it's probably worth it! I'm sorry you're going through this.

Agree with the others. Contact an attorney. Find out their recommendation at the very least. Sometimes people will get their act together when they see that legal action is a possibility. Get that demand letter drafted. If your contract says you are owed certain things, then legal action should be taken if a party fails to deliver!
