Photo booth, cookie table or candy table???

Mrs. Vitucci, on February 28, 2011 at 6:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 21

So I've been looking into a photo booth (getting married in Canton, Ohio) and found 2 companies that do it and the prices start at $650 for a basic package. Now I'm having a small wedding (about 50 people) and I am having a hard time justifying paying that much money for such a small party.

Instead I was thinking of doing a Polaroid camera set up (on a tripod) near the sign in table and having each guest take a picture and then sign the book and attach the picture.

Lastly, I was also thinking of having either a candy or cookie table for favors.

It's just sad because I've never seen a photo booth at a wedding at it looks so cool!

I like the Polaroid idea, I would put clear instructions up to make sure people understand what to do. As for the candy/cookies - yummy, can I come?

I'd say Candy bar. Regarding the Polaroid camera, check to make sure they still make the film for it. I thought I heard they stopped making it a few years ago.

I think it really depends on your budget..I've been thinking about a photo booth also or not..mine would be 400 for 3 hours; we are probably having around 75 guests..for your 50 guests, is that how many you are inviting or how many you expect will probably come?

I like the polaroid idea and a cookie table. Or you could do a cookie and candy table.

I'll be sending out about 60-65 invites, I figure about 50 will come. They do make the polaroid camera still, they run about 80 and the film (10 pack) is about $10, less if you buy in bulk.

I did a photo op and didn't print any of the photos. I just uploaded the pics onto the group room I made for wedding pics. People had fun with it. I have pics posted here: http://genevieveswedding.blogspot.com/2010/12/recap-fauxtobooth.html

I had props for the fauxtobooth: http://genevieveswedding.blogspot.com/2011/02/fauxtobooth-props.html

I had a candy buffet that everyone loved! http://genevieveswedding.blogspot.com/2010/10/recap-candy-buffet.html

I think a cookie buffet would cost more than a candy buffet but everyone would love either.

Personally, I like the photo booth, your can capture funny moments of your guests (especially if you provide some props).

The other thing to think about is having a digital camera and an instant printer, instead of the Polaroid. That way, you get digital copies of the photos (generally better quality than Polaroids), and your guests can also have a copy as their favor.

Looks like the link to my instructions got left out of jessica M.'s post; here it is.

I have been contemplating those same things! We decided to do just a dessert table. I am making it with my mom and sisters (and anyone else we can con into helping) and that has saved a lot of money!

I am now contemplating your polaroid idea, but wonder how I could con my guests into doing that...

I found a local vendor for the photo booth. I sooooo want it.. but for me it would run $800 to $900 and I am only thinking of having around 60 guests. I definitely don't have the extra money to spend, but my wedding is so far away that who knows, maybe I will fall into some money and do it anyway!

As much as I loooove the photobooth, I'm running into the same problem so we will be doing polaroids with stack mat cards (really pretty) that will have little photo corners so guests can stick them in and write a message to us.. we'll be putting them in our wedding scrapbook (not doing a professional photo album, I feel like the scrapbook is more personal anyway) Smiley winking so go with the polars!

Oh and as for the cookie vs candy- why not mix it up a little? you can do mostly candy and add some cookies as well for those few people that don't personally like candy (like me) lol

Are any of you DB brides? I got a discount on my photobooth because my vendor gives it to DB brides in the area. You might want to check on something like that.

Thats actually a very good price for a photobooth. Mine is $1300.00 (base) for the whole night. Your Photographer may/should be able to provide a set up similar to the one your talking about doing yourself, you might chek with them.
