Paying for Bridal Suite

I absolutely love my venue. I'm just looking for opinions (and to vent). So it's costing $4500 to book plus $650 to have the ceremony on site. In addition they want to charge $350 to use the Bridal suite. They only have one event per day so I feel like the empty room shouldn't cost more? Is anyone...

Shouldn't it be included? I tried to discuss it with the woman and she said if I don't want to pay for it I can have it for 20 minutes prior to the ceremony. It's just frustrating that I'm paying ~30k for this whole thing and she isn't willing to work with me at all. Is it worth bringing up again?

My venue is one event per a day. I get the entire ceremony/reception/bridal and groom suite plus several other amenities for no extra charge.

My venue is a golf course owned by the park district and the bridal suite is free for the whole day. I suppose it's not unheard of to charge for it, but I'm still a bit surprised by that... As others have said, I'd look at the contract. I hate that everything wedding related automatically costs astronomically more...

Is the 30K for your whole wedding or what you are paying to the venue? If it's an all-inclusive venue and they are going to nickel and dime you an extra $350 on top of the 30K that does seem ridiculous.

Our venue has multiple weddings each day and they have a large bridal suite for everyone to use at no additional charge.

My venue is exactly the same way. I am paying around $15,000 for the venue, semi-inclusive and includes mainly everything. But if I want to use the bridal suite it is extra. But the thing if my bridal suite is that it has three bedrooms and is more of a hotel room that you book out the night of the wedding. I am getting married in a rustic barn and when they made an additional for a chef kitchen, they added a suite above for the bride and groom on their wedding night, so if you want to rent it you pay for it like a hotel room. They also bring us breakfast for the girls, wine, coffee

Ours charges $100 per hour for a conference room. It's cheaper for me to get a night at a boutique hotel near by and then just show up to the venue right before the ceremony. I would not pay $650 a room unless it's drop dead gorgeous

It's a little odd that they are charging you for the bridal suite, I have not heard of this before.

That's absolutely ridiculous. Why are they separating everything? Mine was a flat fee for a Saturday and I get it the venue from 8am until midnight. The place I'm getting married at is on 40 acres of land and we get free roam. It's pretty awesome. I'd definitely talk to your venue again about the prices.

My venue only has one event per day. We are able to be in the bridal suite for up to four events before the event at no extra charge.

So it's for 5 hours! And the on site fee is ridiculous because chairs are already set up but I let that one go. I'm definitely going to bring it up again! It includes absolutely nothing. Just access for us to use it. ??

I've been in many bridal suites and can understand why they charge so please don't feel like she is singling you out/taking advantage of you. They know the industry and are preparing for clean up/fix up ... especially if MUA/hair is done and food and drinks will be allowed in.

ETA : it's not "just an empty room". An empty room has a HUGE advantage over a room with décor and furniture.

My venue has multiple events day and two bridal suites. They didn't charge us for it. The rooms just have two couches mirror and and bathroom.

Uh, this is weird. My venue does one event a day and we have a bridal suite, a bridesmaid suite, and a groom and groomsmen suite included. Literally the whole place is ours.

My venue doesn't even have space for us to get ready. It's a resort so they expect you to rent a room. They are giving us Saturday night for free and we are paying for Friday night so I figure I'll be getting ready with my girls there. It's $400 per night. About what you are spending. Is there a hotel nearby where you can rent a suite or something?

I don't think it's ideal at all they charge so much - however - they chose to set that price, and you can choose to pay it or not to use it or not.

It may be negotiable, but they know they have a premium product that you (and other brides) would want - so they can charge any price they want for it.

Wow! That's crazy. Just doesn't seem like a vendor I would want to use. Seems petty and greedy the way they are nickel and diming you. I wonder what previous brides did. Perhaps see if you can find out how they approached the situation.

Omg are you getting married at zorvinos? Those are the same prices I am paying and I'm upset about the bridal suite as well.

Lindsey YES! I love the vineyard but the prices are absolutely ridiculous. I've always been set on having my dream wedding there and didn't really look at other places. I definitely should have. After reading all the fine print, it's insane how much they are charging us. Like there's a person minimum and a food minimum which I heard usually it's one or the other!

So frustrating. We are having larger wedding so that's not an issue but for the price we are paying we should at lease get the bridal suite. I haven't brought it up yet because we aren't getting married until 2018 but frustrated to hear she gave you a hard time about it.

Our venue includes bridal suite & grooms room plus a ceremony location...all for $4700. I would ask again to see if you can use it. I was under the impression that most venues included them.
