Partial Wedding Planner or Not?

Soon-To-Be Mrs. G, on July 25, 2017 at 9:53 AM Posted in Planning 0 6

Hi all....My wedding will be in August of 2018.

My Fiance and I feel like we are ahead of the game as far as wedding planning (Became engaged on Christmas Day 2016)...... I've always been a very organized person. We have the venues and the vendors...and I have worked on all the specific details, completed our Invitation wording, still editing our day-of schedule outline of the Ceremony & Reception, have completed all of the Ceremony Program wording, etc, etc.

Because we have a lot done already and I am a detailed person, the problem I'm having is deciding whether or not to hire a partial wedding planner when we get closer to our wedding date? or should I just buy one of those Wedding planner books and handle everything ourselves?

*Note* I am planning to have a Day-of-Coordinator.

I can't afford one so my family is going to be my Day-of-coordinator and I'm doing the res of it myself as well. My wedding is 3/24/18.

It sounds like you are pretty on top of it and can handle the planning yourself. I would think a DOC is all you would need. But if you don't want to do the planning or don't have the time and it's in your budget then get one but why waste money when you don't have to

I think you're fine with just a DOC. There wouldn't be much for a planner to do if you've already have hired all your vendors and you have a year to decide the details.

What would you want a partial planner to do for you? Are there specific things you need help with, or do you want extra assurance in the planning process? I'd think through exactly what you'd want in a planner first!

I'd suggest getting a month-of coordinator as the best solution! They'll do the DOC role but will start working with you the month before your wedding to take the reins. They'll get in touch with all of your vendors, coordinate vendor meals, work with your other vendors on the timeline, and make sure you aren't forgetting anything!!

Ok. Thank you Amanda, Kayla, .Rachel

I guess I'm looking for more of reassurance that I'm not missing any details.

Thanks @WWLynnie..A month-of- coordinator sounds like more of what I need.

I love my wedding planners!! They are making my wedding experience so much more fun, enjoyable, and relaxing! They know everything thing which takes all the guess work out of planning for me! It's nice to be able to say what I want and really not worry about how to get it done. It's worth every penny in my opinion!
