Parents 35th wedding anniversary is my wedding date

Black DahliA, on August 13, 2013 at 1:46 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 9

My parents and I will share the same wedding date. It'll be 35 years for them and I want to honor them in some way. Any ideas?

I like the idea about a dance like Out the Window said. Or maybe when your first dance is winding down you can invite them on to continue the dance (have the dj/band announce that it is their anniversary then).

I am getting married the day after my parents' 33rd wedding anniversary and they are going to do their own dance to kick off the anniversary dance with all the couples! After their dance we will bring all couples out and then slowly tell them to get off the dance floor based on the length of their marriage.

That's really sweet Smiley smile But I agree with the suggestion about letting them have their own dance

My parents' 30th will be 2 days after my wedding (originally we wanted it on the same day, but their anniversary falls on Memorial Day... which is a Monday).

We're planning on having the DJ play their first dance song as a surprise and having them dance together.

I think playing their first song and letting them have that dance would be wonderful Smiley laugh
