Paper vs Electronic rsvp

BecomingBecker, on November 19, 2018 at 9:59 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 45

What is everyone doing? Paper RSVP of Electronic? I've been seriously thinking about doing electronic just because I know that I'm going to have to chase down a lot of my family for their responses anyways and feel like I'd be wasting money on just another piece of paper to put with the invites...

We did paper because we knew not everyone had access to a computer (a lot of older family members).

That was my initial thought too but then my cousin/MOH that recently got married told me that she had to chase down all of the older generation anyways because they didn't RSVP and told her "Oh I just assumed you knew I'd be there!" ....soooooooo lol

On our wedding website we gave guests the option to RSVP there, but we also sent paper invites.

I'm thinking of sending paper invites and having instructions on the invite to RSVP on the website

We did paper because we used the Minted all in one invite so we didn't have to pay extra for an RSVP card, it came attached to the actual invite for the guests to tear off the bottom and send back as a postcard.

My cousin who recently got married gave people the option of paper or online and most people sent the paper back.

We still are doing paper invites, but we're doing electronic invites. Like you said, we know we will have to track some people down anyway. And electronic means that we don't have to deal with: 1. Messy handwriting 2. Having to hunt down phone numbers/emails/other info we might need 3. There is no physical way for people to RSVP for more guests than they were allowed (so no random plus ones) although I know that some people will still try to bring uninvited guests anyway.

The only thing I'll miss is the satisfaction of opening up a physical RSVP, but I can live with that for the cheaper cost. Our mail man is also incredibly unreliable. Sometimes we get mail in the morning. Sometimes it's at 9PM. Sometimes we get no mail at all. *shakes fist*

I did paper (even labeled and stamped the envelopes for them for easy mailing). For me it was easier to keep track and wanted the physical proof that they were serious and were going.

I had put out our wedding website on the invite but the website did have a RSVP. I figured not many people will take the time to type out the wedding website to go RSVP.

We did have to contact maybe 10 people which wasn’t too bad.

I’m doing both so if ppl want to mail them they can but if they’d rather have the convenience they can do it online.

Paper Invite and electronic RSVP for us. I didn't want to deal with the extra paper & postage, plus all of our guest are tech savvy, even our oldests guests are all on facebook and can easily get to a website to RSVP. We are using Zola and no one is allowed to RSVP for someone that is not already on our list.

For our wedding we did paper invites, but electronic RSVP’s through our website. We actually had an incredibly easy time with it, and everyone was able to get their information in rather early on. While we had to track down a few people almost everyone went online and did it. With the grandparents our parents just did it for them since we knew they would be there!

We're doing paper with the ability to RSVP online. A lot of our guests are older and it's easier to do it this way.

We sent paper invitations but are doing electronic RSVP. It's made it a lot easier for us to keep up with who has RSVPED and how many guests are currently attending the wedding. Our crowd of older guests haven't had any issues with it being electronic and were among the first to respond.

We're doing paper (already stamped) for those who are not tech savvy, eldery, or do not have access to a computer.
