Orlando wedding needing advice (looking for park or hotel venue)

Tanner, on January 12, 2021 at 3:06 PM Posted in Florida Planning 0 10
Hey guys!

I’m trying to find somewhere in Orlando that is beautiful for a destination wedding... ( I don’t want it at a Disney park because it’s insanely expensive) I’m up for a beautiful hotel venue or a park etc plz let me know your thoughts kinda leaning towards a nice hotel but up for suggestions 🙃

What kind of vibe are you going for? Rusty? Boho? Beachy?

Hello Tanner. I live in Orlando. How nice (or expensive) are you looking for? We have the Four Seasons or the Waldorf Astoria, the Ritz Carlton (love their spa) and the JW here. I personally like the Grand Bohemian Hotel in downtown Orlando. It’s modern and a little quirky, but different. There are some gorgeous gardens here too — Lew Gardens is one I can think of.

Take a look at eventective.com. Do you want to pick out your own vendors or just show up?

I don't have recommendations for a venue, but I do highly recommend getting married at a hotel. Almost every venue we toured when planning our wedding was a hotel. Most of our guests traveled about 1.5 hours for our wedding so it was easy because they didn't have to worry about where they would stay and we didn't have to worry about them traveling after drinking. We had the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception at the hotel so once they were there they didn't have to worry about traveling from one location to the next and we didn't have to worry about providing transportation. The only downside was our venue was in a city so there weren't very many places to take outdoor photos. However, we got married when it was like 100 degrees outside so we had very limited outdoor photos. But our venue was gorgeous with high ceilings, beautiful columns, and marble so there were plenty of beautiful backdowns to take photos indoors. I think for a destination wedding a wedding at a hotel is the best choice.

The hotels around International Drive are lovely too and there is dining near by and I feel it is a little bit of a distance from Disney. Have you also considered this place? Looking at the pic it seems like upscale BOHO. https://thebalconyorlando.com/

Here are some more suggestions although I think Winter Park, FL is beautiful with some nice places too and not too far. https://www.theknot.com/marketplace/wedding-reception-venues-orlando-fl

What about Paradise Cove? I've heard good things about weddings there!

    Hi Tanner,

We manage weddings at The Grand Bohemian downtown all the time. It's so unique, boho, and glam at the same time! They offer amazing accommodations for the bride and groom, getting ready, etc.

Gaylord Palms is an amazing hotel/resort near Disney. They have a few different venue options throughout and I think some of them would be cool for a Boho vibe. They are pricey, around $25k for venue (including tables, chairs, etc), catering and planning when we did a tour a few years go.

You might also like the Bohemian Hotel in Celebration or Island Grove Wine Company (my bridal shower is there in a few weeks!)

Cypress Grove Estate House is a gorgeous venue in a park on a beautiful lake. If you’re looking for an outdoor venue with the most beautiful cypress trees all around and a gorgeous outdoor terrace for your reception/dance floor. This would be my pick for a good park option, but we have a lot of great hotels here, as other people have mentioned!
