Organization!? Help!

Kristal, on November 21, 2019 at 10:01 AM Posted in Planning 0 3

Okay so down to double digits. Pretty much exactly 3 months out. My wedding party and all their associated stuff (clothes, gifts, etc.) are good to go. However decor is being a might of a pain.

I was finally able to get my wedding stuff out of the car and into my new she shed (we closed on our house yesterday!) but i'm still at a loss. the idea of how to stage things to make sure I have what I need for each table, so on and so forth is beyond problematic, and I have less than 2 months to finalize decor and get an email with all of it to the venue for final approval. My MoH has generously offered to help but i don't even know where to start, or for that matter, what to even ask her to do.

I had things planned out perfectly well 7+ months ago but venue threw a wrench into my plans due to their liability insurance saying no to candles in votive holders along with the fire pillar my officiant would have let me use for free. I've had to flip to battery operated candles and a candle in a glass cylinder on something for which I have no budget for the ceremony. I just feel lost. What have you all done/what are you planning to do to get decor finalized before your big day?

Does your venue allow you to leave your things there the night before?

if so, then putting everything in their designated boxes and labeling it would help!

i actually also had candles for my centerpieces and i did not light them aha. i did not ask my venue if i could but i just didn't really want to moreso for the reasoning being that it was another thing to do and it was a lot cheaper getting real candles vs battery operated ones.

My venue wont allow me to leave anything but it might be a good idea to put them in boxes and label them for my coordinator. Unfortunately with my venue and I already having had a discussion about open flame, they would assume them being lit and not approve them.

I have plastic tote boxes that I am storing everything in up until my wedding. I try to keep all the boxes labeled with like items in it. For example, box 1 has all the bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages and ceremony flowers. Box 2 has the centerpieces and reception table decorations. Box 3 and 4 has the mugs for favors/drinkware. etc. Everything has a list on the outside of the box so I can add to it when I put additional things. I also have a master list in my planning binder.
