I'm trying to figure out if we should purchase o'dourves for our "cocktail hour" (we're actually only serving craft beer and wine, so no cocktails). With the timeline below, do you think people would expect them? They're kind of pricey. Each o'dourve we select is about $400, and I would assume we'd...

With the timeline below, do you think people would expect them? They're kind of pricey. Each o'dourve we select is about $400, and I would assume we'd need at least 2 selections, but I also don't want to be tacky if they are sort of expected. Our timeline is below, and we're not doing a formal entrance, so we will be mingling with guests immediately after the ceremony:

5:30 ceremony

5:45 bar opens

6:30 toasts

6:45 dinner buffet

Monica, there was a user on here who was planning her daughter's wedding. They found out via a Facebook post that the daughter had eloped over 10mos ago and was keeping it a secret to get the big wedding... it was awful.

I have no problem with eloping, hell we've considered it. However, I guess I just don't understand the need to hide it. OP stated her mother said not to tell anyone because she's embarrassed it wasn't a catholic ceremony. No one is shaming her for it, we've never shamed anyone for eloping. It's the secrecy most of us don't understand.

I understand OP needs to do what she can afford, which we've suggested options, and tried to help.
