Casey, on April 15, 2018 at 9:27 AM Posted in Planning 0 14
Fellow October brides,
how are you doing with planning? I feel like I’m Doing good... Feel a bit overwhelmed right now. My problem is I just like to get things done myself so I have really asked for much help.
Right now I have...
Photographer and DJ booked
Hair and makeup appointment is set
Ordered my belt
FH has my wedding band
appointments this week for flowers and cake
honeymoon is booked
wedding dress bought
girls have their dresses

I still need to...
buy shoes, earrings and veil
men need to figure out their suits
order FHs ring
call hotels and reserve rooms
call for a limo the day of
figure out where we are staying the night of the wedding
ask cousin to officiate
buy bridesmaids gifts
order card box, guest book, welcome sign and menu cars
order invitations
start Registration

mg... I feel like there is more I’m forgetting 🙄 I’m not doing a wedding website and my venue has all the catering, chairs, tables, linens etc.

You're further along than I am. I've had to put planning on hold for the past few weeks due personal injury and a death in my family.

I've got the venue, caterer, florist, photographer, videographer, DJ, hotel blocks, my dress, cake baker, our registry, officiant, sent save the dates

I still need bridal party attire, veil, shoes, hair/makeup artist, invitations, gifts, wedding bands ...so much more to do

I too am an October bride! It is proving to be a popular time for weddings this year I have come to find. Which has made some obstacles in our planning. So, yes, I am beginning to feel a bit overwhelmed as well. Six months to go though!
You sound like you have you have your planning under control. Awesome! Kudos! We still have the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner to plan, finalize our menu for the reception, arrange bar menu, order invites, order wedding attire for FH and groomsmen, purchase wedding bands, and hire an officiant. We had asked a friend, but turns out that is not going to work out. We are going to meet with someone new today. Hoping it will turn out well. I have been finding that so many people are already booked for the same date of our wedding. Not just officiants, all vendors. Hence why I was saying October is a popular month this year. Have you run into similar issues? This is escalating my stress level alone without all the other details to consider.
I keep reminding myself though that in the end, this day is about me and my FH, my best friend. When I see him at the end of that aisle all of the anxiety and stress will melt away 👰💞🤵 How are you dealing with the stress?

Omg it’s a super popular month! Luckily we’ve only had one florist tell us they don’t have our date available and I think it’s because I did most of that planning ahead of time.
I keep forgetting about the rehearsal dinner!! So much to do in so little time

I love planning so I have everything but the guys suits, the day of time line, and some forms needing to be filled out. End of May I am going to New Orleans where I am getting married to meet with my vendors and talk over things. Oh and I need to make the hanker chiefs I plan to make.

October bride here as Well! I get a little overwhelmed at times if I read these forums too much and think OMG I am not where I should be but in all actually I think I'm okay.

    Venue booked
    Photographer and DJ booked
Invitations, response cards, song request cards printed (diy)
Envelopes addressed (will need to make adjustments to 3 of them)
    Card wraps cut (diy)
    FH ring purchased
    Dress purchased
    Jewelry purchased
Have signs designed, waiting on wood to stain and paint
    Officiant booked (my grandfather 😍)
BM dresses purchased and picked up
    Florist booked
    Cake booked

Mostly I have little stuff to do..having a difficult time finding flat/low wedge shoes for my size 10/11 feet. Trying to decide on what to wear under my dress, almost have a garter picked out and need to get GM suits picked out and ordered.

I work in a resort town whose season ends the week before our wedding so I'm trying to get as much as possible done before June when my time will start to be limited.

Thanks! My grandfather is my world and I couldn't imagine him not officiating our wedding since he's an ordained minister. The only thing I'm sort of worried about is he's an emotional man and I lived with him for 12 years of my life so he considers me his little girl. I know he'll get a bit teary and that always makes me teary so I'm gonna need some super waterproof mascara and to stare at FH so I don't cry.

    I can't wait for October 20th!

We’re getting married the end of October and I feel pretty good with where we’re at. We still need:
-bridesmaids dresses (we are going May 5)
-flower girl dress (the one I want & ordered was too big, waiting for the exchange to come)
-figure out my veil (I want to use my godmother’s, but we need to make sure the color matches)
    -figure out my jewelry
-cake tasting & design (scheduling that for early May)
    -guys tuxes
    -transportation
    -ring for him
    -hair/makeup trial
-make signs (that’s a summer project)
    -figure out table numbers
    -order invitations

    10/20 here we come!

    Heres what we’ve got done:
    - venue
    - caterer
    - hotel blocks
    - florist
    - event design (chairs, amp/mic, etc)
    - rehearsal dinner venue
    - transportation
    - dress bought / pending alterations
    - bridesmaids dresses

    What’s stressing me rn:
    - guest list/invitations
    - ceremony performances
    - officiant

I feel like I had good momentum at the beginning but now I’m starting to feel my energy go down. It takes longer for me to get stuff done. Anyone else feel that way?

    I'm 10/20 too!
I'm excited but very exhausted. I work a lot so I've found setting aside time on weekends really hard. I plan to and then things come up. I made a binder...labels and all that breaks the process down by timeline, budget, theme and supplies for the location, vendors, bridal shower guest list, bachelorette guest list, wedding guest list and rehearsal dinner. I'm a bit of a control freak but having a plan calms me.
    What we've gotten done:
    Save the dates
    Venue
    Photographer
    DJ
    Suits
Dress, shoes, veil purchased alterations appointment booked
    Rings
    Officiant
    Tuxes
    Bridesmaid dresses
    Caterer
    Bartenders/ Drinks
    Flowers
    Baker
    To do:
    Finalize guest list
    Invitations
    Transportation
    Hotel blocks
    Table/chair rentals
Hair and makeup (person I had dropped out last week).
I definitely had a ton of momentum in the beginning and I was excited because we get to make it our own since we're marrying in an art gallery (all outside vendors needed) but now I'm getting tired. It's a lot and little things keep going wrong. My sister has been a huge help but still a bit overwhelmed with how fast the time is flying now.
