obtaining addresses for thank you cards

Natalie, on August 1, 2017 at 10:31 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 9

Hey ladies and gents! I got married in Maryland near my DH's family last March and had a very casual celebration of marriage in our hometown in California last weekend. It was a very informal, low budget affair, so we decided to do Evites instead of paper invitations. Some of our guests brought gifts and I would like to send them paper thank you cards, but I'm not sure of the proper way to go about asking for addresses. I would love to do it by Facebook message, email, or text, but is it tacky to do it that way? Would love to hear what you all think.

I would just text them saying "I would love to send you a thank you card for your lovely gift, would you mind sending me your address" or maybe worded a little differently

FB/Call/Text is how I obtained addresses for invites, so I don't think it's tacky to do that for thank you notes. What would be tacky is FBing your thank you. Paper is definitely the way to go here.

I asked for addresses for our invites via email, text and Facebook message! However you get them is fine and I'm sure they will love to receive your thank you! Smiley smile

I think that's fine, it'll be how I get my addresses too.

Not tacky at all. I've also looked up names on the county auditor site but some might consider it creepy. *shrug*

That's not tacky, it's how I got addresses.

You can also ask Moms and Grandmas.

Yikes you got married in March and you are just now thinking about this??

    Gotta get on it, girl.

Call, text, email, ask family members. Do what you gotta do to get those addresses so you can send those hand-written thank you's out ASAP!
