I am not sure of their rates, but check out Liberty Warehouse and the Green Building, both in Red Hook. Based on ppl I've known who've gotten married there, I think they are two of the more "affordable" venues in Brooklyn. . .

I'd also advise you to keep an open mind about having an alternative style reception-- maybe cocktails and heavy hors d'oeuvres or brunch-- instead of a full dinner reception, and maybe on the date, too --- if you move your wedding to March, you could probably save some money. $100 is *a lot * of money pp, but the reality is that it is so tough to find in NYC!

I live in NYC and thay is def possible. My friend got married at Dyker Gold course and paid less than that per person (they're located in BkLYN). I'm getting married at Victory Garden Cafe (Astoria, Ny). Having a brunch reception, but they also have reasonable prices for dinner food as well.

I think I threw away the list of places I came across, but would let you know if I remember one of the ones I didn't choose.

Riccardo's under the bridge was one of them. Owner was willing to negotiate, but the style of the place didn't represent FH and I. They're an Italian place and also has a restaurant. I didn't like the setup of the place. It didn't go with our vision. They're also in Queens.

Just a heads up, lots of places require fewer people for the minimum if you do an afternoon reception and charge less per person. That's how we got our dream venue

Water's Edge in LIC (Queens) has great views of Manhattan and might be around that much if you're willing to do a Saturday afternoon or Sunday. I believe they were about $120 for Saturday evenings though.
