Ours Is October 17th And We Are Moving Forward With Planning. We Have No Intention To Reschedule Unless We Have No Other Choice.

We’re November 21 and have no current plans to reschedule, and we would hold off on making that decision until early fall anyway. There’s so much uncertainty, so I’m trying to be optimistic.. We've discussed a plan B To some extent but are remaining hopeful that we can have our wedding 🤞🏼

Well the obvious reasons came to mind... they are predicting a 2nd wave in the Fall and there will be no vaccine by then, and there are no viable treatment options. We have lots of relatives in their 50s and 60s, and didn’t want them to feel as though they were being put in a situation where they had to decide whether to come to our wedding or put their health at risk- that goes for guests of all ages really. We didn’t want to worry about people having to social distance at the wedding or be forced to wear masks. Plus, the amount of people allowed to gather at that point will likely be 50 or less (if we don’t have another outbreak and have 10 or less again), which means we would have to cut down our guest list- how do we choose which family and friends “make the cut”? We just wanted to make sure our wedding was a fun celebration with all our guests! Plus, many of our vendors were already booking up for a fall of 2021. If we didn’t make the call now, we would have likely had to wait until Fall of 2022! I decided I would much rather wait a year to have the wedding we’d envisioned, instead of waiting another 2 years.

I am August 1 and we are still planning as normal. We won't make any decision to postpone until June. Things change very quickly with the virus. I also think that it depends on what state you are in.

At this point, we are planning for our Nov. 14th day. We've discussed and would postpone if we are unable to host our event as planned (including if we had to cut the guest list down due to gathering restrictions). I have waited a VERY long time for this man and I want to celebrate our union with my nearest and dearest. While I don't want to wait, I will if that is what it comes too. But for now, we are waiting to see what the directives are as we get closer.

Well, we don’t really have a plan B.. all I did was contact my vendors to make sure we can reschedule if necessary but if we did have to postpone we’ll probably still get married and postpone the reception.. we’ve had a 2+ year engagement I definitely don’t want to wait any longer 😭

I am leaning (and FH is mostly convinced) towards postponing a big wedding to next year for several reasons. Initially, there was the concern about would things be open enough by early November to be able to have the kind of wedding we want 1) more than 50 people 2) no masks 3) dancing and social interactions 4) guests needing to come via flights. While many states are opening up, the different phases will likely be extended because of the resurgence of cases that will be seen. This has been demonstrated in other epidemics and in the current pandemic with several countries. But now our thinking is that even if by chance we are open enough by then there is the very real risk of a second wave in the fall. This has been demonstrated from previous pandemics like the Spanish Flu of 1918. What everyone thinks of as the big outbreak was actually the second, larger, wave in a series of three. We don't know if coronavirus will behave the same way but this seems to be a decent chance.

I would rather plan ahead and move things now rather than trying to scramble at the last minute to rearrange things. That is just my personality and others can tolerate more risk.

I still have my date. November 14th. But i have a gut feeling that gathering restrictions may still be in place so now i'm looking into alternatives

Hi Joel! I've also seen a lot of people discussing November wedding decisions in these discussions:

Has anyone postponed their October, November, or December wedding yet?
