November wedding?

Miranda, on September 14, 2014 at 2:50 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 38

Im so worried about having my wedding in the beginning of November. Im afraid no one would come because it is such a weird or busy month. Any thoughts on a November wedding?

So just for me personally it would be hard to find time to attend. My birthday is in November as well as several other family members....add in Thanksgiving, etc and depending on where you live and where your guest live....the possibility of snow. December is a busy month too, but you sometimes can get the added bonus or your venue already being decorated for the Holiday.

My wedding is this coming November, and nobody has said anything. But mine is on November 8th, so I believe it's just the perfect time before the holiday season craziness kicks in.

Our wedding is at the beginning of November. Honestly, I feel like MORE people will come because it's not a very busy time of the year and they don't have much else going on. I've been to weddings in December and February and haven't thought twice about the date of them.

Those who want to be there, will be there - regardless of what's going on. You're gonna drive yourself insane if you try to find a time that's convenient for everyone. Pick the date that you & FH want.

Our wedding is early November also. It looks like we're going to have a pretty full house, and 80% of our guests are coming in from out of town.

If people have to fly to your wedding and then they usually fly somewhere for Thanksgiving, then those people might not make it (due to finances, etc.).

But a friend of mine is getting married the week after your wedding, in Vegas. I don't usually fly anywhere for Thanksgiving, so I'm going to Vegas!

My wedding is Nov. 2 (49 days left!) And so far I havent heard any issues with it being too close to the holidays. The only Aunt we have coming from out of state did mention that since she would be coming for the wedding she wouldn't be here for Thanksgiving but she is totally fine with that.

Something to keep in mind about early November though is Halloween. The only day my venue had a avilable for my rehersal is Halloween at 4pm. I am estatic about it because we want everyone to come in costume but some people are less than thrilled to "give up" their Halloween for a wedding rehersal.

I was worried about our wedding being the day after Halloween Since we are having a kid friendly wedding. However all of my family has assured me that it's not a big deal at all. We just decided to do our rehearsal the Thursday before so we don't take away the FG & Best man 's (8 yo nephew) trick or treating.

So I think the people that truly matter will do whatever they have to do to be there. No matter the season. :-)

Were getting married the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We chose the date because so many of our fam will still be in town from the holiday. Don't stress it. People will always find a reason to not show. The people closest to you will be there regardless.

I'm also November and I haven't received any negative feedback. Even if I did, who gives a darn....you either come or you don't. I have always wanted a fall wedding.

Why is it a weird and busy month? There's Thanksgiving at the end, but nothing really at the beginning. I'm confused. I'm November 8th.

The only reason id say its weird or concerned is because of people being in school and we are having it thursday (due to money and having more of a flexible time to work with). Its probably only my planning jitters because im booking the venue soon and im always afraid that ill invite all these people and no one will show up. Haha

We are getting married Nov 29th and it is a OOT/DW. It is a holiday weekend which has allowed a lot of our out of town family and friends to have an easy travel experience (with more time to see us)>>>BUT it also meant that some flights were more pricey, and that many family and friends could not attend the wedding or weekend because they had set holiday plans with their families. It cut our Wedding number drastically from our invite number.

I think it all depends on your crowd. We're having a weekday/holiday eve afternoon wedding and expect a pretty high turnout. We're keeping it to 100 guests, a lot of older family and family friends and a handful of close friends. We confirmed with our immediate families that they could get the day off before booking the date with our venue.

Oh. well, to be honest, I'd say having it on a Thursday would be more of an issue for attendance than it being in the month of November. I'd get the save the dates out well in advance so people can take off of work (or school) accordingly!

We are having ours November 8. Honestly, it never even crossed my mind that people wouldn't come because of the holidays. We are starting to get back our RSVPs and have only received 4 Nos.

I wouldn't worry about it. The only time I would really worry about it is if you chose Nov 1st, just because it's the day after Halloween.

You do realize that you are having it on veteran's day right?

You may have issues because it's on VETERAN'S DAY! More so than Thursday, or November! Photographers could be doing other Veteran's day events, as well as venues, caterers....ect.
