November wedding color(s)

FutureMrsGriff, on March 9, 2014 at 5:44 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 25

I thought I had my color picked out for my November wedding. Purple - it is my favorite color and its great because its also a fall color. But now I'm second guessing myself. I feel like a ton of people are using purple and I want to do something different. I'm not a fan of orange and brown so they are out of the question.

My dress is more like a champagne color so the color would need to go well with that. I seen a color swatch of light pink and light silver, and it looked beautiful but my sister says pink isn't a fall color.

Any suggestions? Does the color really have to go with the theme/season?

We went to a wedding this past fall. The colors were burgundy, navy, cream and gold.

You should do whatever colors will make you happy! Screw what anyone else is doing/thinks!

I'm doing ruby, gold, and ivory. Red is pretty popular, and I kind of didn't want it, but that's what FH settled for. The last 5 weddings I've been to were shades of purple...so I could never do that.

I'm doing plum and gold for my November wedding (the day after yours). I happen to really dislike reds and oranges. You could really do anything for the fall I think. A dark charcoal would look really pretty with a pop of pink. Anyway, people do navy and dark colors in the summer and I feel like nobody says "that's not a summer color"

Mine is Oct 25 and I'm doing Eggplant , Green and Rustic Gold. Don't second guess yourself! If you like purple, I think purple makes for a fantastic fall color. (My dress is also a champagne/gold color on top)

Rock that purple girl, or pink if that is what makes you happy!

Im doing dark purples magentas and champagne gold . I feel like darker versions of my fave colors work better for the fall. Light colors remind me of more of a summer thing

Autumn colors are copper, wine, burnt orange, deep purple/mauve, gold, dark yellow, and reds. But who said you have to be seasonal?

You can do royal blue, or purple and gold! I personally love that bright purple with gold accents!

Check out www.fabmood.com, they have so many different color palettes to choose from and you can pick by season or color. I have changed my mind about 3 times now about our wedding colors. At first, I felt like we HAD to stick with "Fall" colors, but now I have decided, I am not letting the season dictate the color palette for my wedding. We are going with what WE want, not what everyone thinks we should have.

I think you should do what color makes you happy, and don't worry about what other brides are doing!

I also wasn't going to do purple because it was so popular, but it has always been my favorite color! I decided to use it anyway :]

Do whatever you want! I think those colors are just fine for a fall wedding. I'm a November bride and my colors are sapphire blue and silver.

I am a week after you, and I am doing plum, ivory and goldtones. I am doing it not because of the season, but because I love the color, it looks great/ compliments my BMs skin tones, it is what i consider a "formal" color so it will fit with my formal reception.

had my favorite color been yellow, I would've made my colors yellow and still had my wedding in November

Do what you want! Nobody will care if you use colors that aren't right 'for the season' but also keep in mind- if you want purple, USE PURPLE! There are thousands of weddings a year. If you're giving up on your favorite color to be original it's just silly because no matter what you pick there are going to be tons of other weddings using it.

What about keeping the purple but adding to it? I think purple (plum), blush, and silver would look really nice together. It will work fine for the season.
