Just looking at the models and what is projected going forward- they are predicting a second wave of cases in the Fall, we are not expected to have a vaccine by then, and we currently have no viable treatment options. That alone made me feel as though it would be irresponsible for us to have our family & friends potentially put their health in danger for us (Especially our older guests). Add to that the fact they are predicting no large gatherings for the rest of the year- which means we would have significantly had to cut down our guest list, and we did not want to have to pick & choose who was “important enough to make the cut”. We had contemplated waiting a bit longer to see how things went, but a lot of our vendors were already booking up for fall of 2021, and we didn’t want to risk having to push all the way out to 2022. It was a difficult decision, but we are both 100% sure it was the right decision for us

Wow, I totally understand. I am waiting until August to make a decision on what to do at this point.

Good luck girl! My heart goes out to all of us that have been put in this crazy situation! Maybe talk to your vendors and see what their schedules are like just in case you end up having to reschedule. I’ve heard some brides say their vendors are willing to put a soft hold on a future date. It’s always good to have a back-up plan!

I actually spoke with my wedding coordinator yesterday. I have placed a hold on a date in February 2021, but then again we might wait until next November.

It’s good peace of mind knowing you at least have a backup plan, just in case

Ours Is In October And We Aren't Rescheduling Anything Unless We ABSOLUTELY Have To. I Think It'll Be Okay For Gatherings Of At Least 50 People By Then.

We’re November 14, 2020. I was trying to stay positive but I don’t know if that’s logical right now. I’m also in NJ so things are a little hectic here. I think we’ll be able to gather in smaller groups by November but I think there will be a lot of restrictions that we don’t want to worry about. It might seem like it’s too early to postpone but I might contact our venue soon to inquire about late 2021 dates. I don’t want to wait too long and miss out on availability. Especially because we have all of our vendors booked.

I have (hopefully) the same wedding date. I am also super anxious about what restrictions will be in place by the date. I have access my wedding advisor (from the venue) what her opinion was. She said that I should try to reserve a new date (if I want too) by the end of August, that way it is prior to the general ~90 day cancelation a lot of vendors said.

So maybe hold out until August? That or call your vendors and see if because of the current events, if you were to move your event and they are no longer available to give you your money / deposit back
