Not so normal bachelorette parties

Okay, so we all know that when most people think "bachelorette party" they think male strippers and heavy drinking. Not all of us are like that, so I wanted to put a thread out there for those brides that are like me and have decided to do something different (thankfully, my MoH is totally on-board...

Okay, so we all know that when most people think "bachelorette party" they think male strippers and heavy drinking. Not all of us are like that, so I wanted to put a thread out there for those brides that are like me and have decided to do something different (thankfully, my MoH is totally on-board with this idea). This way, if you have an MoH who thinks of the typical bachelorette party and not the kind of thing you want, you can send a not-so-subtle hint this way. haha

So, for my bachelorette party, we're going to grab some movies, some pizza, some popcorn, a bit of wine, and spend an evening in pajamas laughing with the ladies in my life who have really meant so much to me.

I'm an under age bride to be, and don't do a lot of drinking as it is, don't really see the point. We are thinking about going to a local dance hall and dancing the night away! Dinner and movies after!

Also, reminiscing on all the past things that's have happened! Perfectly content with our plans!

Hmm, when I think bachelorette I do NOT think make strippers and heavy drinking. I respect FH and our relationship more than that.

While I think we're forgoing the bachelor/ette parties, I wouldn't honestly want to do much more than a night in with a couple of close friends anyway.

I also think the whole "last night of freedom" mindset is crap, but that's a whole post in itself. Lol.

If I was having one I'd just prefer something low key like a spa day or getting a manicure, (I've never had either). Or movies and dinner. I've never been a bar type person and relaxing sounds much more fun than going out and getting drunk.

We're getting pizza and milkshakes (also how I celebrated my 21st birthday), and then I'm not sure what. We might venture to a bar for a drink or two, or do putt putt golf.... It's on my hometown, and there just isn't all that much to do.

I just went on a bachelorette party for a friend who was getting married and we rented a pedal pub. It was a lot of fun!

FH and I decided we didn't want the whole stripper thing for our parties and we communicated that to our BP. So far I know that FH's party is most likely going to be at this indoor extreme sports place where they play paintball, laser tag, and archery tag. I don't know what mine is because it's a surprise, but somewhere along the lines of either a beach day with the girls or maybe a wine tour.

We're doing the bachelorette a few days before the wedding since all of the ladies live in different states and it was too hard to coordinate two trips.

My request was to keep it low key. We're going paddle boarding and then dressing up in cocktail dresses and doing a picnic in the park with a fancy wine and cheese spread.

My girls are planning a beach weekend. The first night will be bridal party only. The second night they are inviting some of my close friends and we will tiki bar hop. No fancy dinner, I prefer casual. We are staying one hotel over from my venue Smiley smile

One of my sisters is only 19 so my other sister (MOH) is maing plans so she can be included. Last I talked to her she was thinking that we'd do a pampering spa day followed by dinner. The salons she's looking at allow us to bring our own wine or mimosas because they have a space for bridal groups so if the older girls want to drink at the spa or dinner they can but my little sister still gets to be apart of the day Smiley smile

I have no idea what we are doing for the bachelorette party! When my MOH asked me I said that I just really wanted to go out to a nice restaurant with the girls and then back to my place for a slumber party with chick flicks and board games (much like yours OP!). I have a sinking feeling that that isn't happening.

I've never been to a bachelorette party with strippers - my friends and I are tame. So that's not what I think of anyway. I've been to paint and wine nights, across town scavenger hunts, bowling, things like that. For mine, a good chunk of my closest friends were either pregnant or had newborns so it wasn't going to be something heavy with drinking. We went out to eat then went back to my friend's house - she had snacks and fun drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and played minute to win it style games. We were laughing so hard we were crying at some of them. There's nothing quite like having a couple drinks in you and watching someone try to move an Oreo from their forehead to their mouth.

I'm believe we are doing a strip tease class and maybe 1 bar. I don't like male strippers (they can be fun but really aggressive to) and drinking in a club/bar is kinda boring to me. I wanted to do an activity and this way I can show FH what I learned that night Smiley smile

FH and I wanted to do a joint canoe camping bachelor(ette) party. Hop in canoes, paddle to a campsite thats accessible only from water, camp overnight, then paddle to the take-out the next day. We had the BM and MOH on board, but we couldn't work out schedules between all the bridesmaids and groomsmen. FH and his groomsmen did a weekend of camping for his bachelor. My bachelorette is a surprise, but I know it is going to be in the town where we're getting married, and it won't involve clubbing. My girlfriends have made lingerie showers a tradition for bachelorette parties, and I am very much looking forward to it (even though it is supposed to be a surprise)! I mentioned a private yoga class to my MOH when she asked for suggestions, but I don't know if she went that direction.

ETA: for one of my girlfriends we did a pole dancing class. I have also done a burlesque class as part of a bachelorette. Both were tons of fun and a great workout!

My MOH isn't giving me all the details, but I know we'll be renting an old, historic fire house on Lake Michigan in the downtown of my hometown that was converted to a hotel. She was pushing hard on the stripper, and I think (hope) I've talked her out of it, but I have no idea what else is in store. None of us are heavy drinkers though, and most people have to travel home the following day so I'm thinking it will be fairly low key.

We went outlet shopping, laid by the pool and went out for a killer steak dinner for mine. Couldn't have been better!
