My fiancé and I really want a band for our wedding. We have gone to see 3 bands perform and I keep finding something wrong. Too cheesy, can’t play modern songs, not enough energy etc. I feel like a band can make or break a wedding and I’m putting a lot of pressure on myself to pick the perfect band.

I have looked on the vendor page here but I want to get personal recommendations for bands in the Philadelphia area. Also, any recommendations on what I should be looking for in a band would help as well.

Hey Marissa! Welcome to the WeddingWire community! I’m sorry that you are finding it difficult to find the perfect band for your wedding. It’s great that you have started searching on the WeddingWire vendor search, are there any bands that you are interested in from there? You can absolutely check out their own personal websites, YouTube channel and other social media platforms so that you can get a better feel for their style before contacting them.
Have you thought about what type of atmosphere you want to create with your band at your reception? Are there any specific songs or artists that you want to be played?

I'm not sure who you looked up yet, but we're using the Bachelor Boys Band. We really liked them when we saw one of their showcases. They plays a wide variety of songs, and all the vocalists they showcased were fantastic! My fiance and I are musicians and are particular about music, and were recommended to use the Bachelor Boys Band by a friend who's also a musician. They're not a set group of people but a collection of musicians - all the musicians at the showcase were fantastic! Another band we were looking to book, but were busy on our wedding date, is Modern Luxe. All of their videos I've seen are spectacular! I thought a couple of the East Coast Entertainment (ECE) bands were pretty good if you haven't checked them out yet. Once you find one you love, book as soon as you can!
