How many people have gone without hiring a wedding planner, and did you have any regrets about that decision?

I didn’t. No regrets at all. We had 75 guests, church ceremony and then reception at a separate venue. However, our venue included a lot - furniture, glassware, crockery, cutlery, some decor, and we used the in house caterer, so I didn’t have too many vendors to pull together.

Did you have to worry about setting anything up yourself decoration wise? Mine will most likely be 250 or more guests but I’m still unsure about wanting to hire a coordinator.

I didnt have a wedding planner and I dont regret it. I did have a DOC at the ceremony location and a separate one at the reception. They were super helpful!

We didn't have a planner and no regrets. We had 100 guests. My cousin who had 300 guests also didn't hire a planner.

Thanks ladies!! I just wanted to make sure that I wasn’t biting off more than I can chew. I will look into the DOC though.

We are a month out and didn’t hire a wedding coordinator. The general manager and florist will do the decorating, which isn’t very extensive. He will set up the escort cards, the guest book and favors. Part of his job as he says. Theknot.com’s checklist was extremely helpful in planning the wedding. Everything has been pretty stress free because of it.

I never even thought to hire one, honestly don’t see the need. My wedding is in 30 days and we have everything under control except maybe finances, but a wedding planner would just add to the expense. Not worth it for me.

My wedding is saturday, and i've done everything myself. i guess we'll find out soon if it was worth it! but so far, yes. stressful at times but i can't fathom spending half our budget on a planner. we are at about 90 people, and do have a friend helping out day of just to keep things running smoothly. we are having a laid back wedding, though, if it was formal i'd definitely need a planner.

I don’t have a planner; we have a DOC for the reception venue only. So far all has been extremely smooth. For the ceremony venue, while my FH and I do first look, the florist will do most of the decorating for the ceremony venue and the bridal party will do the finishing touches (the pipe and draping that is super easy, staircase decor, signs). They all volunteered and would be there for a while anyway. Smiley smile

We don't have a wedding planner, and planning is going great. I'm super organized so it's been easy. We did hire a month of coordinator though.
