No rose petals for my flower girl!

My church is not allowing my flower girl to throw rose petals down the aisle. She says there are liability issues. I was thnking of having her give roses to random people as she walks down the aisle? Does anybody else have suggestions?

They arent expensive to make. if you get the ribbon from ebay, you can make 100 for less $50.

    what are your colors?

If you make them, you can buy wooden dowels at Michael's really inexpensively (plus coupon!) and just cut them down to size. Get ribbons, and you're golden!

Blair is right ... I am making mine!! All you need is dowels, ribbon & glue (I am adding bells onto them too). I am hoping to include a cute sign on the container of wands that will pretty much tell people what to do with them (although I haven't come up with anything clever yet lol)!!

Okay, I will do it. How long do you think the ribbon should be, around a foot and a half?

@ Blair H - My colors are brown, gold, and ivory

@ Ashley - I just found this sign....what do you think. I was thinking of DIYing it! You guys are gonna make me a DIY queen! =) Thanks!

Adorable ideas! I definitely like the idea of handing flowers to people, if the little girl is a ham. If she'd put on a cute show with it.. But otherwise, little girls all love those fabric wand things!

:-( i dont have any of that color. I was going to send you some extras

you need 20-24 inches of each strand. I'm doing 4 strands of 1/8 inch ribbon but if you use 3/8 ribbon you can away with 2 strands.

I used this ebay seller. came very quick

@ Blair - Awwww, thank you so much for thinking of it! That is very sweet.

And thanks for the directions, okay, I'm gonna see if I can do this. Now I want to add bells too! Do you think the organza ribbon or the satin ribon is the way to go?

    Great ideas ladies!

Our parish church doesn't allow a runner, petals, rice, birdseed or even bubbles. Also, we can only tie things onto the pews. : ( I was always under the impression we were the church. Ooops, my Catholic skepticism is showing. I apologize.

    @ Carola M - LOL!!!

@ Rachel - No, I can't have anything thrown, or runners, although they did suggest bubbles. Although thanks for the link, I did want to throw petals on the table, but thought that would be too expensive. This is a good option!
