No Flowers at the wedding

KaStew93, on February 24, 2016 at 3:22 PM Posted in Planning 0 49

Has anyone had a wedding or been to one that hasn't had any flowers? And if so do you have pictures of it?

I haven't experienced this but I personally wouldn't miss flowers/judge the couple for not having them... There's plenty of beautiful alternatives.

I didn't have flowers. What kind of pictures do you want? Or what questions do you have? I don't think anyone missed them.

We didn't have flowers. We just a lot of votives and a few larger mercury glass candles on the tables. I didn't miss them.

Well of what the bride/bridal party looked like and how they stood without flowers

Oh, I don't know, I didn't have anyone stand with me. Do you think they need flowers though? The groomsmen don't carry flowers and I think they look OK :-)

I've never been to a wedding with zero flowers, but I've been to a ton of weddings where the only flowers were the bridal party bouquets!

No. In just about 1300 weddings personally, I have never seen a no flower wedding. I"m starting to see no bouts, but parasols and lanterns for the BM's just look self conscious and strange.

Ohh. Sorry. We did have bouquets, but just simple rice flowers and hydrangeas from Whole Foods (like $30 total). I don't think they're really *necessary* though.

I've seen photos of bridesmaids holding lanterns or parasols, but that seems a little awkward and random IMO.

I saw a wedding where the bridesmaids each carried a single bird of paradise flower and it looked very pretty. Orchids would be another good flower to do this with.

My friend and her bridesmaids carried bouquets, but there were no flowers at the reception. She had a totally DIY wedding, and her colors were gray and yellow. I do have a picture of her reception table set up--she kept it pretty simple.

If we have flowers, we're only doing carnation bouquets and maybe boutonnieres. Two of my bridesmaids have floral experience, so just ordering the flowers.

Ahhh great ideas! There are flowers already at our venue but I don't know what flowers we would want to use. Our colors are espresso brown and Malibu blue and it'll be September 4th during the early afternoon

I have a friend that's good at flowers. Otherwise I'd struggle to pay for them because I really don't care about them at ALL.

Same. My idea for the wedding is just a large fancy family/friends get together that everyone is having a good time at.

@Annie, do you have pictures of yours? I'm thinking of going the whole foods route but would have to pick it up the day before so I'm curious to see others who did the same.

Yea that marshmallow one would not make it down the aisle. Technically it wouldn't make it out of my bridal suite knowing my girls and I.

Spazzy, you're cracking me up! I really want an ice cream cone now...

We carried broach bouquets. Not flowers, but they have the same look so IDK if that helps.

No parasols, no fans, no laterns, and for god's sake no parasols.. why not just have them hold a pineapple? A kitten? A bag of Doritos?

And all those BP pix withoug bouquets? Many time the photographers will do photos without BP bouquets, especially in the summer.
