No Flowers at the wedding

Has anyone had a wedding or been to one that hasn't had any flowers? And if so do you have pictures of it?

Spazzy you are too much!! I love the idea of carrying a single bird of paradise flower or orchids. I think that would look beautiful!

Wow! This is such a relief to hear that many people don't miss the flowers. I don't really care for them. Plus my catering budget went a bit over. (I really wanted a cold bar, withOUT the ice sculpture. Lol) I'd prefer to spend money on food/entertainment. I think I might skip the flowers all together. I know it's really nice, but it's really only nice if you have the money. And I'm running out.

PS.. I was going to do Costco flowers and have a friend put some together and tie a bow around it. They are the most affordable I've seen.

We are doing these handmade fabric satin flowers for bouquets. Don't plan on any other flowers otherwise

Do you want nothing even resembling a flower, or just no fresh flowers? Many brides here have had origami/kusudama paper flowers, brooch bouquets, and I went to a wedding where they had burlap flowers.

ETA: There's also the option of silk flowers.

We're doing wildflowers for our centerpieces, my boquet, and FH's bout. I know that's flowers, but they're easy.

You don't need flowers, but I do like the look of bouquets. If I had to cut flowers, I would cut everything but my bouquets.

Have you talked to a florist? Or thought about alternatives? I saw a bouquet of carnations and it was actually beautiful. Ladies on here have done baby breath bouquets. Both of those are cheaper options.

And depending on the flowers you pick, the bouquets don't have to be that expensive. My real flower bouquets were even cheaper than the one Richard posted above.

You can do clutch bags. Can double as bridesmaids gift.

My self and my bridal party had bouquets, but those were the only flowers. I didn't decorate with any.

I didn't decorate with flowers, they were pretty much just in my bouquet. Any decoration we did was mostly floating candles

I have never ever seen a wedding that didn't have ANY flowers. The most I have seen is non-floral centerpieces.

Making my centerpieces out of coffee filters since I am very low budget. My bouquet is Sola flowers. We are having a rustic wedding. Eta: we are having no real flowers at our wedding which is why I shared this info. Didn't know if OP was going no flowers or no real flowers.

No. Not once. Not personally, and not professionally. I can't even tabulate how many weddings I've been to in my five decades of life -- in either category. Flowers are wedding decor, and I knew that when I was 14 -- decades before I made a penny doing floral design.

You can have a wedding without flowers. In fact, you can have a wedding without dinner, without cocktails, without guests, without a wedding cake, and without a wedding gown. Do those weddings look like the gorgeous weddings featured in bridal magazines? No. If you don't care, skip the frills, but if you skip all of the frills, I'd suggest you skip the guests as well.

There are flowers as centerpieces that were at the venue. I'm not against them just trying to see opinions and hear options. Just trying to cut some cost. I'm not really worried about small details because I want to be able to be relaxed. We want it pretty and elegant but I also don't want to get too overwhelmed (which happens semi-easily) so trying to keep it simple and fun.

We're doing lanterns and greens for the reception, and I offered to do green (ferns and the like) bouquets to accomodate FH's allergies, but since our ceremony is outside he said he can manage with medication so long as he doesn't have to sit in a room for 6 hours with wall to wall flowers. But there are some beautiful options for fern, ivy, and the like if you're trying to avoid flowers, or are you trying to avoid plants altogether?

I'm with bappybride - I can't recall the flowers of any wedding I've been to. Seems like a mighty waste if you don't care about them. I'll have bouts and bouquets but beyond that I'm not worried. Depending on how much those cost I might have more flowers around the ceremony, but the centerpieces aren't floral.

I think I will do only a bouquet for myself and corsages for the mohs/ bridesmaids/groomsmaids and then flower balls for the junior bridesmaids....no flowers for the decorations... picture centerpieces and flameless candles (the battery ones).
