Needing "sweet" Inspiration

Dacia, on May 31, 2020 at 2:12 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 15

Hello! My fiancé and I are getting married at 10 am on Thanksgiving Day. We are essentially having a private family ceremony. The ceremony will last no longer than 30 minutes and we are only having coffee and hot chocolate with muffins for the reception, as it will be short as well to allow everyone the majority of the day to actually enjoy Thanksgiving.

We are thinking of having up to 3 types of muffins and keep going back and forth between mini muffins and regular sized. So far, the one flavor we have landed on is coffee cake.

I know there are tons of other muffin flavors, but what do you all suggest?

Some simple and basic...I would have blueberry and maybe chocolate chip, plus your coffee cake flavor? I think it's a very cute idea and taking into consideration the celebrations other people will have the rest of the day, it will be perfect 😊

I agree with Kerin. I would have the other two flowers be chocolate chip and blueberry as most people like those two flavors.

I'm in agreement with the chocolate chip and blueberry suggestion! Mini muffins are a better party food than regular sized ones, imo.

Agree with everyone else - most people like blueberry and chocolate chip and coffee cake sounds yummy. Maybe add juice and some fruit for a little bit of variety? You’ll know your guests best but it could be nice to have another option and could easily be brought to thanksgiving if there’s leftovers Smiley smile

Or maybe something fall themed like pumpkin, apple spiced, or cranberry walnut! Or could keep if you think people will have enough “fall flavors” on the day!

My thought was Fall flavors too! That is what we plan to do with our desserts. Pumpkin cheesecake, pecan pie and an apple crumb tort.

Mini muffins for sure! Full size muffins are so filling, and you don’t want to fill up before the thanksgiving meal. Maybe to fancy up the coffee and hot chocolate, offer fall variety creamers, marshmallows, and other things to make it a snazzy hot beverage bar.

I would do mini coffee cake, pumpkin, and blueberry muffins! The hot chocolate gives a taste of chocolate so I wouldn't do chocolate muffins.

I LOVE coffee cake. My favorite muffins are blueberry, banana nut, strawberry, and pistachio.

    Sounds fun!

Definitely mini muffins since regular size are incredibly filling. I would probably avoid fall flavors since you're probably having pumpkin pie later and you don't want to compete with that. So chocolate, cranberry orange or blueberry in addition to coffee cake.
