Needing Encouragement

Remember this is your wedding. If you and FH like a venue, you two like a venue. I can understand somewhat if your mom is helping pay for it, however, only partly. She doesn't have to help pay if she doesn't like what you want to do. If you can afford to pay for it yourself & like a venue, I'd recommend doing that and not discussing any wedding planning with your mom, as hard as it may be, if you don't want her to continue to do this. You are only a week in and shouldn't be this miserable about wedding planning especially this early on (not that anyone wants to be at any point, but point being)

I understand your mom having a strong opinion if she is helping to pay for the wedding, but it she is not, then this is a decision you and FH have to make together. It's your day and while this process is so frustrating at times you should also enjoy it. When my grandmom found out I was engaged she gave me one piece of advice..."its your day so do what you want".
