I would talk to your niece, assuming she is of an age to reason with.
Tell her she will need to wear the dress you purchased.
I would not confront your cousin, she will just upset you more. Sounds like she has some issues to work on. Good grief.

That's an odd thing to do. Did she think you wouldn't notice? Can you compromise that she will wear the bridesmaid dress for the ceremony and pictures? She can wear the other dress to the reception.

I would tell her she is welcome to attend as a guest. This is ridiculous, the ONLY requirement of a BM is to show dressed as required.

I know, the stress is unreal at this point. Dry your eyes and text your cousin this ASAP. The sundress is NOT happening on your wedding day.

Don’t cry it’s your big day! It’s your big day just keep it simple and say” I appreciate you buying xxxx” a new dress but I’m rather all the bridesmaids be uniform for my wedding and pictures .if xxxxx doesn’t want to wear the same dress as the other BM then she can just come as a guest. This way we both get what we want. I’m really not trying to be difficult but I put a lot into planning this wedding and i want my vision played out. Hope you understand

Well, there's nothing inappropriate about your dress for a 14 year old, so I suggest you be polite but firm and tell them that your niece can either wear the dress you selected and be a bridesmaid or wear something else and be a regular guest. No is not a four-letter word. Good luck!
