Need to Vent

I know SO many of us are having a hard time with wedding planning through covid. I just really need to vent to people that will understand.



My wedding is 10/3/2020. There have been plenty of curveballs along the way the last 5+ months for all of us. Just when I thought things couldn't get worse, one of my out of state bridesmaids called me. She just found out my state is on her state's "do not travel to" list. Their list is 22 states long. Though she could technically come here and quarantine for 14 days after return, her employer has specifically asked her to not come to my wedding and would probably fire her if she does.I'm so heartbroken because I've known her for 16 years and she has been there for me through some very difficult times in life. To not have her here celebrating with us is devastating.
I know we can video her in and I know our wedding will still be fine no matter what, but to have this happen so close to the wedding 💔

    Yeah I understand. If I could only have 20 people present, she would be one of them. My MOH and 2 bridesmaids are practically sisters to me because we all met when we were 11 ❤

    I am really sorry and I can imagine how you feel. This is a crappy time. Sadly she cannot risk losing her job. I still hope you have such a happy day and lean on other ladies that will be there. Maybe skype her in as you get ready to at least talk to her?

    We can all use a vent now and then to those that relate the most ❤ I know all of us will be fine in the end and our days will be amazing! But I do not wish wedding planning on anyone during these times 😂

    That's what we talked about doing ❤ I would never ask anyone to lose their job to come to my wedding and I know she felt SO bad about it because she was crying at the beginning of our call. I obviously reassured her that it will be fine because we can skype. We also decided to try getting a cardboard cutout of her wearing her dress to have her "standing" there during the ceremony and some photos 😂

    I know it's not the same, but if you have to Skype her in, you could put the laptop she's on wherever she would go (on a stool/ladder/table) so it's like she's there. Her face would be on a screen in the pictures, but she would be in them. If she still wears her dress and does her own makeup while you have yours done, and she wears her dress, and you have food delivered to her, and she still makes a speech...she still won't be there. But, she will kind of experience every part of the day at the same time as you, and you'll get to talk to her all day, so it might feel more like she's there with you.

    We had kind of the same thought process with having her skype in for the ceremony and some photos. Thanks for the idea of having her do her makeup on skype while we get ours done and the food delivered to her. That would be so nice to still kind of experience each part of the day along with her!

    Oh girl I’m so sorry! Vent, scream, stomp your feet &/or throw yourself on the ground to cry your eyes out! Do what you have to so you can feel better! After that, the previous people have some great ideas on what you can do. I have 4 kids & 2 of them probably won’t make it. One will be in Afghanistan & the other in boot camp across the country. FaceTime is great but just not the same...

    I am so sorry. Your wedding is in October, HAVE FAITH that things will change after Labor day and pray that states lift some of these restrictions. Don't give up hope just yet.

    I'm so sorry to hear that they probably won't be able to make it. I know military families face this issue in day to day life, not just during these times. Military families are so unbelievably strong with all they go through ❤

    🤞 I am holding out a tiny sliver of hope, but preparing for the worst case scenario so I don't have to go through these emotions all over again the week of the wedding lol

    Oh no! I'm afraid with my MOH too because she is also out of state on the east coast a couple of states over from the bridesmaid in this post! I feel for you so much 💔 it will be ok in the end, but we are justified in allowing ourselves to feel what we are feeling.

    I 100% agree. Like if her boss would allow her to come, it would be fine since she was planning on driving here 😭 to make matters worse, the county I'm living in is CRUSHING it and has only had about 10 new covid cases per day. A different area of the state is ruining not even where we will be!
