Need to Vent

My wedding is 10/3/2020. There have been plenty of curveballs along the way the last 5+ months for all of us. Just when I thought things couldn't get worse, one of my out of state bridesmaids called me. She just found out my state is on her state's "do not travel to" list. Their list is 22 states long. Though she could technically come here and quarantine for 14 days after return, her employer has specifically asked her to not come to my wedding and would probably fire her if she does.I'm so heartbroken because I've known her for 16 years and she has been there for me through some very difficult times in life. To not have her here celebrating with us is devastating.
I know we can video her in and I know our wedding will still be fine no matter what, but to have this happen so close to the wedding 💔

Yo for my sense of humor the cardboard cut out would be awesome sauce! LOL. I get it. I know if my bf/MOH could not make my ceremony I would be upset too so I am really sorry. I still hope your day is awesome. This is just a crappy time right now for many reasons and I hope it gets better soon.

Is there a way she could get around it without her employer knowing ?

I hate that!! My state is bad all around because our governor is dumb and well...its texas lol so you understand im sure! My MOH can't come to the wedding because she is from South Korea and they are on strict lock down, plus she has to get jaw surgery and is graduating from college all in the same time Im getting married...she is my sister from another mister and I am heartbroken that she can't be there, but theres nothing we can do about it. Flights would have been over $1k anyways. What sucks the most though it my other bridesmaid, who i just saw 3 weeks ago, and said that she was about to book her flight and buy her dress, just dropped out of the wedding last week because she is low on money bc she is moving (which she said before wasn't going to be a problem) and is nervous about COVID (yet was fine with seeing me and hangs out with others in public every day...) so I'm super pissed about that since I just bought all the personalized stuff!!! Freaking COVID man....

Unfortunately, I don't think so. She is also too honest of a person to be able to hide it from them lol.

Oh no! 😭 that is awful! Yeah, I have personalized stuff for her too. I might end up mailing it to her if she isn't able to make it so she can join in on skype. Covid sucks!

Thank you ❤ this was just the worst thing to happen to our wedding so far. Maybe her employer will still allow her to come if the county our wedding is in doesn't have many cases. I'm going to track her county too because maybe if her county is worse than mine, they won't be able to have an argument for her not coming 😂

Awww that's sweet! I'm not sure if I will do that as she "broke up" so casually and then hasn't seemed to care that I'm super hurt by it, but we will see. She's the third person to have dropped out of my bridal party. Smiley sad

We were supposed to be married in October as well, but I also am in one of those states that has a quarantine list a mile long. As most of our guests would be traveling in from the "no-go" list we've had no other option but to postpone. It was a very difficult decision, but honestly now that it's made it's such a relief to not have to worry about it anymore, and hopefully this way more people will be able to attend.
I don't know if this is an option available to you or not, but it's definitely worth a thought?

I am so sorry that happend. I pray things change over the next month or so. But know you will be in her heart and vise versa on that day. Hang in there something will break for the good.
