That's great you have it in documentation. Are you deciding to look for other jobs because you're not fully satisfied at this job? If so, good for you for pursuing something else. If it's solely because of this manager's way of handling things, I would give her a chance and not let her completely ruin your outlook on work (presuming, of course, that your documentation of previous approval does get this situation resolved and she allows the time off).

Susana, what type of medical office is it? Is it private practice or does it belong to a group? Someone had to have the power to hire the new manager. Did the doctor(s) do it, is there HR, a supervisor to talk to?

As someone who works in healthcare its a great field to be in and I'm sure you wouldn't have a hard time finding work. But definitely don't leave until you either have another job lined up where you disclose the time off needed for the wedding or until you absolutely have to. Though I'd still give your two weeks notice so it doesn't look like you just quit because that would look bad.

Thank you everyone for your advice, I have to leave because she is pain in the a** well I put off weddding planning for a month now just because of her.

The day I had off before now I don't have them anymore, I'm only home on Sunday.

Last week I had to meet up with a dj and she told me I better be at work on Wednesday because she changed my schedule and I have to work 6 days a week. The thing is I have no dj , no limo and a hairstylist. She makes everything so difficult. I wasn't planing to leave until she told me call offf your wedding or forget your job.

That's when I was like ok I can't work like this. I know it's a bad idea to leave but she caused me so much stress and anxiety and honestly I couldn't do it anymore.

I won't tell her anything for now.

Ugh. It's a shame working with crappy people who make your work life miserable. Definitely don't quit until you find another job, but good luck searching, and I hope you find a job and environment that brings you more happiness!

Have you discussed these issues with HR or her manager? Why did she change your hours? Honestly as someone in HR the department definitely needs to be aware if a manager is causing problems such as this so they can address the situation. Are you the only person singled out by this manager?

@katie well I tried to talk to the doctor he said he doesn't care and we have the manager for a reason and I need to talk to her, and no since she came everyone is miserable but honestly that's none of my business all I wanted was to work in peace and go to my honeymoon without a stress.

Susana - if I were you, I would just work these two months, then just quit without giving her two weeks. She seems like a bitch, so why not treat her like it.

This will be a UO, but don't look to start a new job before the wedding. If a new manager is side-eying a request off, imagine saying to an interviewer "I would like to start as soon as possible, oh by the way I need a week off for my honeymoon."

Your previous manager approved you taking the time off, so fight for your honeymoon and your current job.

I'm so sorry for the way she is treating you! And I disagree on some things other posters have mentioned. Definitely look and interview, and in the interview make SURE you mention needing some time off soon for your wedding and honeymoon. Employers like knowibg in advance, it's considerate! Not seen as a reason to not hire someone. Good luck!!

Well that really sucks that the doctor in charge doesn't care. Working 6 days a week is insane. At this point I wish you luck with the job search. I would leave.

Good that you are looking for something new now. As far as interviews and your upcoming wedding. Be honest when they ask you your availability. I have interviewed for new jobs many times when I have had an event come up that I need time off for. I have never had an issue getting the time off that was needed. These types of things are more common than you think.
