Need some advice for a makeup artist!

I have been looking for makeup artists in my area and it has been brutal. How long do you guys usually wait for them, all vendors, to contact you back? I have been contacted many of them and 5 of them told me that they are already booked! The wedding will be on Oct 8th 2022!

So far I got a hold of one lady and the price for the bride is $410 including hair and makeup and also trail. It’s $90 for hair and $90 for makeup for bridesmaids. Since I will be the one who pays for everyone. I have 7 bridesmaids. I told the lady straight up that I could only pay for hair for all my bridesmaids for now since I have to balance my budget. $90*7=$630 plus $410 for myself is $1,040.
I signed the contract and texted the artist lady on Wednesday until now she hasn’t gotten back to me. I called, texted and emailed. But nothing…my question is will you guys still keep contacting her? I’m not sure if this is what I shouldn’t do? Is it a mandatory that I have to book all hair and makeup for everyone? I’m really confused. Is she mad that I could only pay for myself and hair for my bridesmaids?

Keep in mind that weekends are her busiest time. She likely had a wedding on Friday and today, and maybe tomorrow. I found that wedding vendors in general were fairly slow to respond; I learned to give most up to a week before following up. It was annoying for sure, since that is not how I operate myself, but unfortunately it seemed pretty typical.
I would definitely suggest polling your bridesmaids right away to find out if they want to book makeup as well (at their own expense). It is definitely not mandatory that you have to book hair & makeup for everyone (or even pay for it), but you should find out who is interested so you can confirm the right counts when you sign the contract. Also, I might have read your post the wrong way, but you shouldn't have to pay for all of that upfront. If that is what she is asking you to do, that's kind of a red flag to me. A deposit is totally reasonable though. Good luck!

As Stacey said, most vendors are too busy on weekends to respond immediately but I'd say a week is a reasonable amount of time to wait fir a response. Is it feasible for your bridal party to pay for their own hair and makeup? Yiu should only have to leave a deposit and pay tge rest at the time of service I didn't book for everyone per se, but I did tell the hair/makeup team how many girls would be getting done and she scheduled accordingly. She shouldn't be upset about people only getting one service done.

Wait until Monday to get in touch with vendors. Browse Instagram, Yelp and Thumbtack because you can likely get great hair under that price.

I don't have to pay all at once. It is only 25% deposit. Yes, it is a bit annoying since this is not how they should operate the business. It is hard to find out now since my wedding is a year away. I want to get all my bridesmaids for their hair so they all look nice. It is just that I didn't know that she is upset because I only book her for a makeup for myself but hair for all of them. But she didn't state anything that I need a minimum to book.
It is just because the town that I live is a small town. October is a popular month for all wedding vendors. Just got one makeup artist texted me that I need a minimum of 4 people for Saturday wedding for the makeup. That is ok for me. I understand it. Just tell me, don't let me hang and not knowing anything.

I would think that it should be ok to book a makeup for myself and hair for myself and my bridesmaids. I'm gonna wait if she will reply back to me on Monday.

I just found a couple people on IG. Yes, the price is pretty high here because this is a small town. There are not that many here. I got 6 of them replied back to me that they are fully booked that in October 2022! It is the best month to get married here. It is so crazy
