Need recommendations NYC bridal shops

I went to BHLDN for my first shop and it wasn't too bad of an experience! The consultant wasn't able to help me in my dress though because of Covid, but my guests could! She was really knowledgeable of dress styles, what could be done to make the dress look the best on me, what veils and accessories would look best with whatever dress I had on.

The only thing I didn't like was that online, they have like 100+ dresses to purchase, but in-store they had maybe 30-40, which was disappointing because half of the dresses I wanted to try on (especially the sale ones), weren't there for me to try on. I'm pretty positive that if they had all the dresses in-store, I would have left with my dress that day lol. Idk if they carry the same number of dresses in-store for every location, so I would ask about that! If one close to you has more dresses to offer, then I'd def. recommend going there!

Hey fellow NYC bride here! I got my dress from RK Bridal and had an amazing experience. I have my fittings coming up next month. My mother got her dress from Lotus Bridal in Brooklyn. There’s also a Long Island shop. Their Brooklyn store is smaller than RK but so beautiful, well decorated and a cozy feel. Long Island my be bigger. They also carry bridesmaids dresses there but not at the Brooklyn shop since covid. I know there’s also Kleinfeld out here but I haven’t gone there. I choose RK because out of the three they were the only ones to sell the dress I wanted and the designer I wanted which is Mori Lee. And I also found really good reviews during covid which was important as I had so many nerves about pandemic dress shopping. My suggestion is find the dresses you are interested in or at least the designers and find stores in your area that carry those designers. Even if they don’t have the physical dress in the store, if they carry the designer they may be able to put a order in to get a sample of the dress you are interested in.

I also got my dress from RK! If you are able to, request to have Sheryl as your consultant. The first time I went, I had a consultant who want very nice and straight up budget shamed me. But Sheryl was AMAZING.

I’m also an RK bride and had a great experience but do know it is big and busy — so I don’t think of it as a place with much pampering , certainly not an “intimate” experience. Still, I had a good experience. My stylist worked only with me and really listened to why I had to say and really seemed to be rooting for me to find something perfect while not being pushy at all for the sale. (I did try David’s bridal and the consultant was really pushing me to go for a dress I was lukewarm about and when she realized there was no chance I was gonna buy something that day she seemed very over it). By the time I got to RK I knew precisely what I was looking for style-wise , and my stylist didn’t try to talk me out of it at all, pulled like 10 dresses that fit exactly what I was looking for but were all super different from eachother ...but looking at the rack she brought I was like “YASSS you get me!! Each one of these looks like my dream dress”

Another RK bride here! Their policy right now is you can only bring 2 people with you. But it was a good experience, the consultant brought me whatever I asked for so I only needed one appointment to find my dress.

I went to L'fay Bridal and had a wonderful experience. My consultant was great, she made choices, but also let me and my friends pull dresses too. After she put me in a dress she stayed for a second, and then left so my entourage and I could have a private minute, and then would come back to talk more about the dress and get me into the next one. I tried on 12 dresses in less than 90 minutes!! Super efficient. I knew I wanted to try on Milla Nova dresses, so went there and they were super helpful. They let me try on every style and had great recommendations. They only allow you to bring 2 people right now, but we just facetimed a few other important people. This store carries mostly mid to expensive brands (I tried on a $15,000 dress omg) But I am getting mine made by someone else so I was really just trying stuff on for ideas and to get reference photos, so I wasn't concerned about the actual prices of the gowns, but I wanted to mention that!

I went to RK Bridal. Ask for OLGA!!!!! I had such a hard time finding a dress (went to 4 shops prior) and couldn’t find the one. Every time I’d ask the consultant to pick a dress they said they liked the one I was wearing. Olga picked one out for me based on what I said I liked and didn’t like from each dress I tried. It ended up being THE one! Highly recommend.

I had really good experiences at L’Fay, Bridal Reflections and Lotus Bridal.

I went to Wona and Pronovias both had amazing intimate one on one service. At both salons I was the only one there during my appointment. I'd check out the styles before to see if it's what you like but I definitely recommend both of those!


I went to a few others in the city but those had the most "bridal" experience to me

If your looking for a boutique catered to plus sized brides I would check out brides by young they have a great selection.

I got mines ar Kleinfelds and I loved my experience there. My consultant was Krissy and she was amazing. Because I went for my dress so late I had to get a dress that they had my size in the store, but I also had a specific vision of what I wanted. Krissy made sure to find me dresses exactly what I was looking for. And they have dresses for pretty much everyone's budget and sizes.

I am also an RK bride and I love it there! My first experience was at Pantora Bridal in Brooklyn. It’s a black-owned bridal shop in Brooklyn and they were amazing (super helpful, really listened to me, great vibe, etc.) but I ultimately found my dream dress at RK.

I agree...RK Bridal has a vast selection of dresses in all sizes and very reasonable prices (relatively speaking). My experience there was great. My consultant listened to me and what I wanted and also pulled a couple that she thought would look nice on me. I didn't buy my dress there though. I bought my gown at David's Bridal in the Flatiron district. Also had a great experience there and a lot of plus size dresses. Their prices are reasonable also and they usually have sales.
