My dad wasn't around much when I was a kid. The first couple of years of my life, he didn't believe I was his. Then when it was proven, he tried being around a bit, but then moved far away when I was 4.
I only saw him a few days a year, until I was about 12. Then I stayed with him for a month in the summer. That became a normal thing for most of the years til I finished high school.
Emotionally, he was never there for me growing up. Financially, he was always there for me.
When I spent time with him in the summer, it was some of the best times of my life. We would go on a week-long road trip... just him and I, hitting awesome places to see, and just spending a lot of time driving in his car. They were some of my best memories.
After my mom died, we became much closer emotionally, especially when my step-dad pushed me away. I need a song that is perfect for us.
Any ideas?
