So I moved my wedding date to 2021 for a few reasons. 1 we are moving and its alot of money that we have to use from our E.F.

2 the only people who know is my close family and his family.

Now here is the big one I moved my date mainly because my bestfriend in the whole world is getting married April 25 of 2020 and I don't want to ruin it by announcing mine so I pushed it back an extra year. Did I do the right thing or should I change my date back to May 23 if 2020.

I dont mind a small close friends and family wedding $ is not a problem for me and my mom. But my Bestfriend comes first right?

I don’t see how announcing your wedding date is going to ruin your friend’s wedding, but you do you.

I question why your best friend comes before what you want. If you don't want to postpone your wedding, then I don't see why a wedding an entire month after hers would make that much of a difference. Really, it's what you and your fiancé want.

I think you should move forward with your wedding in 2020. You won’t ruin your friends wedding at all.

My best friend is getting married in 2020 and even though I did not want to have an extra long engagement I didn’t want her to worry about my wedding in the same year so I chose a date in 2021. It’s honestly been a good thing because I have less stress and more time to help her with hers. 🙂 I think you did the right thing!

I have a friend who was originally planning on getting married May 2 and mine is May 30. I wasn't upset at all! She ended up moving it to March for venue availability, but either way I was going to help her 100%. Have you tried talking to her about having your wedding in May?

My fiance could care less on the date aslong as I'm happy and we have our close family. He just want to choose a location up north.

I really don't see how you would be ruining your friend's wedding. Getting married on nearby dates doesn't take away from each of your days!
