I have a long distance relationship engagement and I have some stuff. A member in my family told me about this website and I am so glad she did. My question is how can you change a year to a 6 month planning process.

I would begin booking vendors and getting your dress as soon as you can! As far as the checklist that WW provides, if you click on the activity, you can change the date at the top right corner. For picking the dates they are due since you are on a different timeline, I would choose those big ticket items like photography, venue, picking a dress, bridesmaid dresses etc. to be within the next couple weeks and then go from there since they aren't as time sensitive!

It's totally doable to plan a wedding in 6 months! We're only having an 8 month engagement and I had the vast majority of my planning done in the first 2-3 months. WeddingWire has a lot of great planning resources to help you along the way. I would recommend finding a venue and photographer first, also start dress shopping ASAP. Then book your caterer, DJ, officiant, MUA/hair stylist, and bakery. Of course not all of those are necessities, but those are all of the vendors we're having for our wedding aside from our DOC. Best of luck and we're all here to help if you need it! Smiley smile

It's totally doable. Especially if aspects are kept simple. If you can book all vendors and venues first for a date six months out then that def helps your troubles.

I would just do the stuff at the top of the list first and basically ignore most of the dates, haha! The knott (also wedding planning website) has a similar checklist but it's more specific to your wedding date. You can also change the date on that one, so I like it a little bit better! But you can't beat wedding wires forums!!
