Need honest opinions

Breeana, on March 22, 2021 at 4:08 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16
I bought my dress a little early during my first dress fitting, my wedding isn’t until Feb 2022, and now I’m stressing about if I made the right decision. TBH I felt pressured to make a decision after only trying on 5 dresses. When I went to pick up my dress I noticed the dress in the 2nd picture on a manikin as this is more of the type of dress that I had envisioned for myself with a flowy tulle skirt and sort of sweetheart look. I plan on trying it on next month. My actual dress is a bit more sexy than my usual style but I do like how it makes me feel(please excuse my dirty mirror). I’m afraid I’m not getting honest opinions from those close to me so I’m hoping the internet can help me decide LOL. Which look for a rustic theme?Need honest opinions 1

Honestly I really like the second dress, but you've already purchased the first one and I think it is just as beautiful on you. Maybe you could talk to a seamstress about adding more fabric to give you that feel you're looking for?

I prefer the second one, but both look great! Could you add more tulle to the skirt of the one you have?

The dress you pick should be something you don't want to take off at all. It doesn't matter how pretty someone else says you are in something if you don't feel it. Keep looking if you don't feel that yet and don't settle.

Thank you! I was thinking about that as an option too because I’m not a huge fan of the partial skirt. It’s removable so I can probably get another skirt to go over it.

Maybe buy some cheap tulle and add it under your current dress to see if you like that look?

Thanks! I was thinking of doing that with I’m hesitant to give up on the dress because I like the long sleeves.

Apart of me doesn’t want to take it off but I’m not sure about the bottom half. If I can combine both dress somehow that would be awesome lol.

Talk to your seamstress to see what they can do

I second this, before buying a second dress I'd talk to a seamstress and see what they could make happen, especially since you've tried that second one on and can show them what you like about the second one more than the first.

You don't have to commit to the seamstress' vision, but if you get an idea of how much it might cost compared to just buying the second dress that's what I would recommend.

Oh wow - both dresses are gorgeous!! 😍

You could also try on a tulle overskirt with your dress to see if you like that look! (Check out BHLDN's bridal separates) You could wear the overskirt for the ceremony and your reception dances, then take it off and reveal the sexier look for the rest of the party!

I’m partial to the second dress mainly because that’s my dress too! If you purchased the first dress at David’s Bridal, double check with them if you can receive store credit for the first dress and put that towards the second dress. At David’s you will only receive a refund within the first 7 days but store credit after that. Before settling on a dress you felt pressured into and that’s not your style, double check with the store to see if you can receive store credit for a different dress. Both dress you look gorgeous in, however that second dress is absolutely stunning on you!

Thank you!!! The second girl is actually not me 😅 but yes I did get mine from David’s and I may return for store credit, luckily I have 60 days. I scheduled another fitting appointment this month so I’m going to try on the 2nd dress and a couple more 😄

I love love love the sleeves on the first dress. I am also of the opinion that you should explore modifications before returning it for the second dress but it kind of depends on your budget and the cost of those alterations as well.
