Need help to find places for plus size wedding dresses

Go on Yelp in your area and look for bridal salons. Call ahead to see if they have plus sizes in stock you can try on.

Basically what Michelle said. WW also has bridal shops in their Vendors tab you can look at! To get an idea of where I might want to go, I’ve been looking at those. Most bridal shops will have a “FAQ” section that tells you if they carry plus sizes or not. I hate talking on the phone so that’s my go to. If not, I find them on social media and ask them. But if you’re fine talking on the phone, definitely call them.


Another route you can take, see if Facebook has a wedding planning or reselling group for your area! Join that and ask those brides where they got their plus size gowns. They might be able to give you some personal experiences as to whether or not the bridal shop is even respectful to plus size brides. Good luck!

I agree with Catherine about searching social media. There are several FB groups geared toward the needs of Central Florida brides (sharing ideas, reselling, promoting vendors, etc). I’m a part of one called “Florida Wedding and Event Serviced/Vendors/Couples” and it was so helpful when I was planning. In a quick search of that group, I found several posts with quite a few responses about plus size dress shopping in Tampa and Orlando. Good luck!

You can also look up plus size specific dress lines and then search for local stores that carry them! Maggie Sottero, Morilee, Essence Designs, Sophia Tolli, Watters, David's Bridal, BHLDN and more all have a variety of gowns in extended sizes!

If there is a Davids Bridal near you give them a try! They had a variety of different sizes- plus size included! They also offer super affordable dresses if your budget is tight. I know I have seen people bash David's Bridal on wedding wire however, every location is different everyone's experiences are different so I most definitely wouldn't count them out. I had a wonderful bridal experience at the Davids near me. I even found my dream dress for $450!
