Need Filipino Wedding Advice!

Hi I know I need to have primary and secondary sponsors, which I don’t have yet. I need advice on how many sponsors I should have. I was thinking 8 pairs; is that too much? lso what’s the difference between primary and secondary? Also is it rude of me to not have them walk down the aisle? I just don’t want the ceremony to be a parade of people. I was just going to have reserved seats for them at the church, but is that disrespectful? What other Filipino traditions need to be included in a Catholic Church ceremony? Thanks for the help in advance!

We’re doing 8 pairs. The secondary sponsors are your cord, veil, coin, and candle sponsors. I don’t think we’re having ours walk down the aisle for sake of time but we have them honored with boutonnieres and they will be wearing long gowns versus cocktail attire.

We are bucking some of the tradition and just have sponsors with no distinction between primary and secondary sponsors as my FH is not Filipino. However, we also don't have wedding parties, so I feel like we are already doing our own thing and won't have them in the procession either.

My boss had 16 pairs I think. A total of just under 500 guests. Anyways they all walked and all had boutineers and corsages. Considering what this all entails I think it is right to have them walk they are essentially paying for that. Obviously you will want them in the church program too. And probably introduced at the reception as well.

These are likely cery traditional people who are expecting this. I wouldn’t rock the boat if you expect their money.
