Need a vacation

Futuremrsm, on August 15, 2019 at 9:38 AM Posted in Planning 0 8
So our wedding isn't until October 2020, but life has me stressed. I'm currently in college full time, and working full time at a job I hate. I need a vacation! We are saving a lot of vacation money for our honeymoon, and were probably going to use some wedding money as well. Wedding payments are unfortunately a thing, so we're trying to spend under $1500 for this trip. This post is not wedding related, but is there anywhere in the US that anyone could recommend for a short vacation? Maybe 4 or 5 days. My FH and I just need some time away

Not sure what type of vacation or location in the US you are looking for, but I know that the Outer Banks, NC is fairly affordable for a short beach vacation. We live about 2 hours away from there, and that is actually where we honeymooned (we couldn't afford a big trip), lol.

Destin, FL is my absolute favorite place in the US. Depending on when you go, you can get pretty good prices for rentals. You can get a beach front condo on Airbnb for $400-$500 for 5 days in October and the weather is perfect then. Allegiant has round trip flights directly to Destin for around $100, depending on where you're flying out of. If you're not looking for anything beachy, Gatlinburg, TN is beautiful and super romantic in the fall. Either location could easily be a $1500 getaway.

Where are you currently located? What time of year will you be vacationing?

I was going to suggest the Eastern Shore in Virginia or Outer Banks of North Carolina, but Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA are also nice. I'm from Connecticut and love Mystic. All of these have things to do and sights to see but are very laid back and relaxing which it sounds like you need. Of course they're all on the east coast but that is the only place I have ever lived so it's what I know. Have you thought about renting a mountain cabin for a weekend?

We're on the east coast too! And I've looked into some air b&b's, but my FH is very picky haha

It's good to be picky too. If you're planning a winter get away there are some beautiful places along the coast that drop in price due to the off-season.

New Orleans is awesome in December!! Very temperate weather and they have lots of holiday decorations! We are planning a trip there in November and it is only costing us $1500 for four days – including airfare
