I am getting married on the beach in Jamaica but I don’t want to use a tent for my reception because I want to use string lights to go with my rustic, white and greenery theme. But October is usually a rainy month in Jamaica.

    Having been to weddings in the rain which is completely miserable and messy, I would really get the tent. The decor will not be worth it if the weather is bad.

    We were in Jamaica in June a few years ago and it rained for at least an hour nearly every day. As a wedding guest, I would NOT be happy if the expectation was that I would sit/stand outside during a rainstorm.

    Does your venue offer any other backup plans for rain besides a tent? Anyone planning a wedding outdoors should have a backup for weather (rain, too hot, too cold, etc.). If your venue's only suggestion is a tent, then you will need a tent. If everyone is wet and miserable, your theme won't matter at all.

    actually I have 3 choices on the venue to set up with one indoor but I want a outdoor reception
