Naked Cakes: In or Out?

So out! I would be disappointed if I attended a wedding and this was the cake they served. I need frosting in my life.

I think they’re still in. We are doing full buttercream frosting for ours though!

I’ve never been able to get behind this trend.. I think they’re ugly and a huge eye sore..plus no frosting is just a crime

Personally im not a fan of the way this looks, but I also kind of hate buttercream frosting and fh doesn't like sweets much as he's got very sensitive teeth, so we aren't sure what we are doing yet.

I think some naked cakes are really pretty, but this trend is just simply not for me in so many ways. Naked cakes, OUT.

Have you thought about having a frosting that isn't buttercream on your wedding cake, Kayla? Or are you contemplating doing an alternative dessert like cookies?

OUT! Though honestly, they have always been out for me. The look ugly, taste bad and are just an all around no.

I love the semi-naked ones! We will likely be having one for our wedding. I think with filling in between the layers, too much icing would just be too much.

I like the beautiful look of the cakes. However, I'm not having a naked cake on 6/8.

I think they’re very much in, but I personally love frosting on mine.

OUT! They look messy and unfinished and the frosting is the best part of a cake. I even double glaze my Bundt cakes and they are traditionally not supposed to have that much topping.

In! I think they're simple and elegant. I'm not a huge fan of frosting, so I think they're great!

Rustic Cake

Were doing a partial naked cake for our rustic wedding, so I'd say no, they aren't out. If its what you want to do, and if fits YOUR theme, go for it . This picture is what we are using for inspiration. We'll probably make it a little more naked than this one, but not by much! Already got the cute toppers. To save money, were going to have them make the cake, but we'll do the decorating (we'll have pinecones and babies breath to decorate with).

Some are very pretty but give me all the frosting!!

Do a cake tasting. If it's what the two of you prefer then go for it

I like the look of a naked cake but I love frosting to much to have one.

Personally I dont like the way they look. But a naked cake would be best for me because I do not like frosting.
