Nails the day before the wedding?

Hannah, on November 17, 2020 at 7:02 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 25
Hi ladies - appreciate everyone’s help with wedding planning!! I’m planning to get my nails and brows done the day before the wedding. I was going to go to one of the places I go to all the time like it’s a regular maní/pedí and not tell them it’s my wedding. I didn’t want to deal with an up charge and I’m worried if I tell them, the pressure will be on. Did anyone fair ok having their nails done the day before? Can’t imagine I can screw them up too much - not doing anything that evening or the next morning. Appreciate your insight! I don’t want acrylics - just French or little pink toes and fingers.

I’ve never heard of a nail salon having an up charge for wedding day nails. If that’s the case, I would go somewhere else. As far as timing, I had my nails done the evening before my wedding and had no problems.

Thank you so much Caytlyn!!! I figured everything wedding is more expensive but maybe they will be more careful if they know too.

I also have never heard of a salon u charging for a wedding. My girls and I went the day before prior to our rehearsal. They looked perfect the next day for the wedding.

You're welcome 😊 I will say if you plan on going with a group of people like I did to let them know a head of time so they are prepared. But either way, I would make an appointment.

Agree-never heard of salons up charging. If you know & trust their work, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I plan on going to my all time favorite nail lady the day before. She’s allowed herself 2 hours to get my nails done (getting a whole new set). She doesn’t do pedicures so I’ll find a place closer to my parents house to get that done. Planning on doing a French tip on my toes!

We went the day before the wedding - my girls were all from out of state, so they arranged a little party. There was no upcharge (except the little room they rented at the place)

For some venues, caterers, bakeries, etc. -- yes, there is usually a higher price tag for weddings vs. other events. I have not found this to be the case with nails or brows; they have set prices for their services and don't really care what occasion it is for. Smiley smile

I got my brows done a week before, and my nails done two days before. You should be just fine!

Thank you Eri! Really thought nails would be more expensive if I mentioned my wedding!

I've never heard of a salon upcharging for a bridal party. I went with my girls the afternoon before my wedding and it worked out great. I had acrylics so I didn't have to worry about them getting banged up or anything. I even told them to do an extra good job on my nails because it was my wedding lol

Nail salons do not upcharge for weddings. They don't ask questions about what the occasion is. Getting them done the day before is the best idea too.

Nail salons don't upcharge for weddings. I got mine done the Thursday before my Saturday wedding but they were no-chip so they definitely lasted. If you're not doing no-chip then I'd recommend getting your nails done the day before

I had mine done two days before the wedding, I told my nail lady about my wedding months before so we tried different color combo's each time for at least the 3 months prior to my wedding. I also went for super simple in terms of no added rhinestones I did a pale pink with a glittery silver as an accent nail and a chromed out pink one. If anything my nail lady didn't charge extra for the chrome which I would've paid a few extra dollars, it was her way of saying congrats! If you're sticking to regular nail polish stay away from dishes and extra water exposure, if you're doing gel polish then you're safer in that it's harder to chip the color.

I got my nails done on Thursday for my Saturday wedding and had no issues. Also, I’ve never heard of a nail salon having an up charge for wedding nails. Nails are nails. So I wouldn’t worry about that.

I wouldn’t recommend doing your brows the day before the wedding. I’d give it about a week or a least a few days. Nails will be fine though!

I agree with Caitlyn. The nail places tend to have standard prices for what they do. In fact i would tell them its your wedding so that if something doesn't look exactly how you want it they understand why you are being a bit more critical. (also speak up if you don't like something) if they do great then show them you appreciate them taking your special day seriously by giving a lager tip than usual.

I am doing my nails the day before rehearsal, My nail guy is well aware it is my wedding and has made sure to be available to do my nails as planned. my last few nail appointments have been trials to "nail" down exactly what i want. I hope you find a team to treat you the same.

I got my nails done the morning of my rehearsal. No up charge from my salon and she was actually even more meticulous with my manicure since she knew it was my wedding.

With brows, I would try to do it a few days beforehand in case your skin gets inflamed/irritated from the wax or threading.
