My dress has no pockets! Where to keep...

Diana, on April 29, 2015 at 12:53 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

I think pockets on dresses are fun and useful, but since my wedding dress doesn't have them, I was wondering where people keep their personal items? Like phone and touch up items? Should I have my mother keep a clutch for me during ceremony and leave it at my table during reception? I get dry eyes and lips so I definitely need eye drops and chapstick with me during the long day. Thanks in advance for the advice!

Have a bridal tote with all your emergency things, depending on if you're having your ceremony & reception in one place it could be in the bridal suite or have your mom or MOH man the bag so you always have your personal items in an arms reach. That's my plan because it worked for my aunt perfectly.

My DH put my phone in his pocket during the ceremony and I had a clutch for the reception. I ended up not needing anything in it.

I am planning on hiding my purse under the head table... not sure if that's a super bright idea or not, but I'm really hoping no one would be that much of an a-hole to steal the bride's purse on her wedding day. lol.

We are staying at the hotel where the ceremony and reception will be. I'm thinking I would like my bridal tote/purse close to me so I can quickly get to things when I need it and not have to run up to my room.

My venue is both the ceremony and reception site, and has a little dressing room for the bride to prepare in - I'm planning to have a tote bag of emergency supplies kept in there. I think the clutch idea is probably your best bet, and have a specific person in charge of it so it doesn't get sidetracked!

Our reception venue has lockers that we can use (its a golf club) and I'll have a tote bag with me to stash in there, but I also bought a tote to keep more personal items with me at the table....I don't think I'll need my phone since everyone I know and would talk to will be at the wedding anyway!

You won't need your phone for the wedding, and honestly neither of you need one during the ceremony. You won't be talking, texting, or online during the ceremony so leave it out of the way all together. During the reception you still wouldn't need the phone, anyone you want pics with will have their phone and you can get the pics sent to you from them. This is one of those special times that should be phone free for you and FH. For other items you may need have someone else keep the bag with them so you know who has it at all times and can quickly get it.

I bought a pretty clutch. I doubt I will need anything I put in it, but I will leave it on the table at the reception, after the ceremony I will have my MOH or my nephew get it for me from the apartment that we will be getting ready at which is attached to the venue.

I had pockets on my dress - it was great. I just kept my vows and tissues in it though. My phone stayed in my purse under the table with my heels

Thanks for the tips ladies! Sounds like under the table is the best bet. I can't imagine why I would need to use my phone but in my mind I always have it with me for an emergency.

I had my MOH take my phone so she could take phone pictures for me during the reception. She gave it back to me later on.

I kept everything in a huge shoebox for my friend when I was a MOH. Idk why a shoebox, it just kept everything accessible rather than rooting around in a huge bag. The BP and her mom knew where it was, so either I or another BM would run up to the bridal suite to grab whatever she needed. There's weren't long tablecloths on the sweetheart table, and I didn't want to trip over it so I left it upstairs. Worked just fine, I didn't mind running around for her.

I had a handkerchief in my bra, left my phone in my suitcase for the day, and my MOH had a touchup bag for me - which I then had to remember to grab from her at the end of the night. you honestly don't need anything, and I'm a TOTAL purse girl.

I plan on keeping everything in the bridal suite at our venue. I can't imagine there being anything I would need too desperately, but if I think of something, I'll probably either put it in FHs pockets or ask one of my BMs to hold on to it.

I am actually having them add a pocket to my dress...LOL. The first one I tried on had them and I loved the idea. Most likely only for tissue. My MOH will have a clutch if I need anything.
