Music help!!

Miranda, on September 16, 2019 at 1:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

So I am DIYing almost everything for my wedding because it is so small. Well anyways that means we are not getting a DJ instead I am going to make a playlist of songs and run it from my laptop. I know i need to have some music for dinner, intro song, first dance, father daughter dance, mother son dance. But I don't know if I am missing any other points I should try to have a specific song for. Or if those are it and I can just run a playlist of different songs to feel in the gaps when we aren't doing the songs listed above. Please let me know if you can think of any other specific event type of songs I should do.

I’m doing the same. i did a separate playlist for the songs we’d have special dances too and the songs we’d be walking too and then i had a big playlist for the reception time.

Thank you for that idea I didnt think about doing them as separate playlist. That makes the idea of this long list of songs a lot less terrifying and easier to flow with.

While we aren't doing many of the events like tosses or parent/bride dances, we are also going with our own playlists. I have one to play as guests arrive, another for the ceremony that a friend will control, one for cocktail hour/dinner, and one for the reception. Since we're only doing a first dance and cake cutting I had our first dance as the first song of the reception playlist, and the cake cutting song only for timing and not because I cared one way or the other what song played while we cut the cake. We also have a microphone for speeches and to announce that we're cutting the cake, I highly recommend getting one if you also want to announce your events.

I haven't decided if we are doing any speeches because we are not having a bridal party, and thats who I have always seen do speeches at the very few weddings I have been to. And i really like the cake cutting Idea just so I know when it seems about right to cut the cake. Thanks for the suggestions I really appreciate it.
