Nervously shopping for a home, and the only one anyone seems to be content with is just a 5-8 minute *walk* from my in laws? Just a little bit nervous about being that close to family, when we're newly engaged and soon-to-be-Married.. Any thoughts or advice to ease a nervous brides concerns?

If you have a good relationship with them I don't see why you should be nervous about.

Yikes that is so close. They could just be out walking and pop in whenever. We live 20 min away from mine and that's the closet DH and I will ever do. And we have a great relationship with them.

That would be a hard no for me. I refuse to live anywhere under an hour from FMIL. It's enough of a trip that she will call to let us know she wants to come by and we don't have to worry about surprise pop ins. We have a very strained relationship (read: we hate each other, but are civil for FH and our son's sake) I would be pissed if she could just drop by whenever she wanted!!
