Most awkward Thank You note ever

ZeldaBride, on April 6, 2017 at 11:21 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

So my man of honor just recently hosted my bridal shower and it was awesome! Now I'm down to writing thank you notes and have one I need assistance wording. One of my friends had to leave before the gifts were opened, so I opened the one from her first. All I pulled out was a super lacy black robe that was most obviously the start to a lingerie set. I opened the rest when I got homme and yup! Lacy bra and panties. Now don't get me wrong - they're super cute and I will totally wear them on the honeymoon! But how do I even *begin* to go about wording a thank you note for them? Lol!! My introvert side is just saying "nononononono!"

Thank you for the "adorable gift?"

And then something how you appreciate it and had fun seeing her, can't wait to celebrate at the wedding, yada yada yada...

Just make it casual.... "Thanks for the robe [or lingerie set or xyz] and thank you for taking the time to spend the day with me and celebrate - I'm so glad you were there!"

Hahaha I totally had this reaction about writing thank yous for lingerie!

I wrote a thank you mostly about coming to the shower and spending time with me during this season of life and that I couldn't wait to celebrate at the wedding with them. Then for the gift just put something funny like "cant wait to debut your gift on the honeymoon!". The gift should be acknowledged just like any other...even if a bit awkward. hopefully anyone who buys you lingerie is close enough to be able to joke about it.

Just like you would for any other thank you - you can be vague and say "gift" or just say robe or lingerie. She know what she got you so there's no shame in calling it what it is

"Thank you for the gift, FH will definitely love it!"

Lol for real I have no clue. I hope you figure out something though!

I like what Boudreau had said.

I'd definitely make a sassy joke, but that's just me.

"FH loves it and can't wait to put it to good use!"

    Hahaha

Thank you ladies! And yeah, @APZ, I definitely want to acknowledge the gift, I just wasn't sure if "thanks for the sexy undies" would work. Lmao!! I really like your suggestion of "debuting at the honeymoon"!

I had to write a thank you note for lingerie also, I said something like, Thank you so much for the lovely gift, FH also thanks you, everything fit perfectly. I was so happy you could come to my bridal shower and FH and I looking forward to seeing you and so and so at the wedding.

Someone got me something- she's a very good friend of mine- I was shocked when I opened it- but I just wrote a basic thank you note for the thoughtful gift.

I agree, you don't have to list the items individually. Make it short and sweet. "take you for the wonderful gift" or you could add some humor to it!

I'd say something like "Not sure if I can wait until the wedding night to use this because it's so sexy but don't worry, it'll get used!" haha
