Morning Wedding

Rozlynn, on April 25, 2020 at 11:48 PM Posted in Planning 1 6

Our wedding is from 11am-3pm. Our theme is "comfort elegance." My FH is not a huge dancer, plus it was 5K cheaper to do a morning wedding. We're planning on doing a "night out on the town" later in the evening.

Has anyone done a morning wedding? What was your experience like? Is there anything you would suggest? I am terrified that people will not have fun.

I would love to attend a brunch wedding! No dancing needed. I’d have a few action stations: crepes and/or omelette where guests can request a custom dish made on the spot. Fun & interactive. An amazing coffee/tea bar where guests can create their own caffeinated drink would be yummy too (for coffee/espresso think chocolate, marshmallows, whipped cream).

We had a 12pm-5pm wedding and people were dancing and having fun just as much as an evening wedding. It was really nice, and when the wedding ended we took like an hour just the two of us to relax in our hotel room, then went out to dinner with a group of friends and chilled in our hotel suite with them until midnight. It was so great! Personally I preferred having an earlier wedding because I didn’t want to spend the whole day “getting ready” for the wedding, I wanted to just get married and spend the day celebrating with my husband!

The afternoon weddings can be fun. Maybe have a photo slide or try the shoe game that's has been popular. It's your day you can do whatever you like just as long you are having fun.

I think that sounds awesome, and people will definitely still have fun! While dancing catches your eye, most people are mingling and talking at weddings!

I'd definitely go all out on the food. Other activities are totally up to you! You could do lawn games, have a photo booth, or a fun mimosa bar. There are some great ideas in this article, even if you're not going for a brunch theme:

Thank you! We are having a photo booth and did an upgrade where they can leave us a message on it. We're planning on having beer, wine, and variations of mimosa's at the bar. I really hope people enjoy it. Thats what terrifies me the most about the wedding.
