Mostly traditional. It's timeless and classic

I like the idea of modern. To me it has more naked emotion and love when the words come from the heart rather than the prewritten.

We wrote our own vows and I am glad we did. It was one of the few things that made me happy that day

Hi Kenisha! I love the idea of doing a little bit of both Smiley heart That way, you get the best of both worlds! Have you started writing your own yet?

Both. We plan to write our own sentiments, and then of course perform the legal intentions, and then the typical "in sickness and in health" bit to help put a bit more of traditional feel into the whole ceremony.

Modern. We are writing our own, together. He really doesn't want to write his alone and "diappoint" me because they are not mushy enough (totally don't think that will happen, but I digress) so we decided to sit down and write them together. It's the perfect compromise.

I hate the idea of writing my own vows. I'm a writer and poet and I 100% don't want to do that for my wedding day. I don't love the traditional vows though so I found an alternative that I like. Hopefully our officiant will be okay with the vows I picked out.

Modern. We wrote our entire ceremony, we wrote our own vows and we did a wine unity ceremony. And our good friends who introduced us both married us.

Traditional. I know we would end up being super cheesy and that's just not us. I like the traditional ones and he doesn't want to feel embarrassed or pressured to wright any lol

We're not quite that far in planning yet but I do know that I want to write at least part of our vows. Maybe work something out with my cousin, who will be marrying us, and do a bit of both.

Modern! We used an updated and reworded version of the traditional repeat after me vows. We also each read each other a letter during the ceremony which was very similar to personal vows but just in a different format.
