My fiance and I have been researching photographers for our wedding, and I found two I like that are in budget. I've met with both and I am leaning toward one. She's already sent me the contract to go over and if I have questions, I can e-mail her before signing.
She has a Model Release clause, which I assume most photographers have, so that they can feature their work on their website and for their own promotional tools. However, it also reads that the photographer can grant use to third parties. I asked the photographer about this, and she said that that could include selling a photo to something like a stock photography company. She said she has never done this in her entire time as a wedding photographer, but the right to is available.
Is this normal for photographers to have in their contracts? Am I being a little paranoid about the whole thing? Or is it a bit much for a wedding photographer to require?
